HTC has stated that it "disagrees" with Apple in the patent suit Apple brought against HTC. HTC points out that it in fact had not only the first touchscreen phone in the US, but additionally the first in the world.
Apple has removed screen protectors from its store and website. An exact reason for the removal has not been given, but speculation is that Apple feels its screens are strong ample that it needs no protection.
