Wal-Mart purchases Vudu

Wal-Mart sees an opportunity in the online movie business and has extended their empire to include the purchase of Vudu, although the financial terms were not disclosed to the masses. Just in case you aren’t too familiar with what Vudu does, the company offers software built into TVs and Blu-ray players, enabling subscribers to rent or purchase high-definition movies and TV programs by the Net where they can watch instantly without waiting for a Blu-ray disc or DVD to reach in

their mailbox. Currently, Vudu has licensed subject matter from most of the major studios with around 16,000 movies on offer, and ought to keep you occupied during your most bored moments. Will Wal-Mart be successful in that effort?
