Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX5 Thinnest Waterproof Camera

[PMA 2010] Sony announced the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX5 two days ago and we have been lucky to get a live overview at PMA (Check out the video).The TX5 is touted to be the thinnest waterproof camera in the world, measuring under 1" thin and yet is able to survive up to 10 feet underwater, boasting a 10-megapixel, back-illuminated CMOS sensor, a fit exterior that can shrug off drops from 5 feet, the ability to survive winter temperatures as low as 14F, a 4X wide-angle piece and 720p video recording.

Sony intros new Cyber-shots

Sony has rolled out a couple of new Cyber-shots in the design of the TX5 as well as the H55. First off, the TX5 is touted to be the thinnest waterproof camera in the world, measuring under 1" thin and yet is able to survive up to 10 feet underwater, boasting a 10-megapixel, back-illuminated CMOS sensor, a conditioned exterior that can shrug off drops from 5 feet, the ability to survive winter temperatures as low as 14F, a 4X wide-angle piece and 720p video recording. As for the H55, that is more or less its polar opposite, being far thicker and carrying a 10X, 25-250mm film equivalent lens with high-grade image stabilization. You too will be able to record in 720p video as well as perform panorama shooting. Both cameras support the Memory Stick and SDHC card formats as they ship that coming April The Sony TX5 and H55 will retail for $350 and $250, respectively.

USB Heating Kneepads

No, the USB Heating Kneepads are not the bees knees. Keeping your hands and feet warm we can understand, but knees? Just wear a really enlarged and thick pair of pants whether you're so averse to winter temperatures, or at least have a set of lengthy johns to keep you warm and toasty inside instead of wasting $28 on the USB Heating Kneepads. Apparently, that device comes with an external battery that can be juiced up when plugged to a USB port, it additionally can be charged via a wall outlet.
