The Viliv S5 is a pretty formidable Mobile Net Device (MID), and it is hence no surprise to see a clone of it surface in the structure of the Inkia MID500n from Shenzen manufacturer Inkia. that model is powered by the Windows XP operating system, where it will be accompanied by specifications which are listed in the extended post. A 2,000mAh battery will capability the device, which is pretty pathetic for a machine running a full Windows operating system, resulting in around 2 hours of battery life only. Out in China later that April for around $440 after conversion, we don’t see the possibility of that hitting Stateside anytime soon.

Hanvon decided to construct their presence felt at CeBIT that year with their BC10C and BA10E tablets. While both models run on the Windows operating system, their innards are slightly different with the former sporting a 10.1? capacitive display at 1,024 x 600 resolution, an Intel Celeron ULV743 1.3GHz processor, 2GB RAM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, HDMI and a 250GB hard drive. It is powered by Windows 7 Home Premium and sports a chassis constructed from aluminum, plastic and carbon fiber. Expect the BC10C to retail anywhere from $600 to $700. As for the Hanvon BA10E, that model sports an active digitizer and electromagnetic stylus, with a speedier Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor running within alongside 1GB RAM, a 120GB hard drive, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, HDMI support and a 10.1″ display at 1,024 x 600 resolution, all running on Windows XP Home with a price point that resides comfortably among $500 and $600.

Microsoft has just sent out another reminder to its dear customers that the end moment for support for Windows XP Service Pack 2 is looming, alongside other versions of the Windows operating system as well. Support for Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Client will officially end on July 13, 2010, and that reminder comes with a marketing twist as it reminds users to upgrade their systems to Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008 by the stated cutoff duration. Bear in mind that upgrades directly from Windows 2000 to Windows 7 are not officially supported, meaning whether you fall under the Windows 2000 category, you will first need to compose the jump to Windows XP before migrating to Windows 7, leaving Bill Gates laughing all the way to the bank.
