NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 and 470 pricing revealed

Looks like we finally have an view on how much the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 and 470 have been priced, where both models are being prepped for a March 26th release Stateside. The GeForce GTX 480 is a monster with 1.5GB worth of RAM, sipping a massive 250 watts when in operation and retailing for a netbook's price at $499 each. As for the slightly lesser GeForce GTX 470, that model is going for $349 while sporting 1280MB of video RAM. Guess you would do best to start saving now and check on your bank history balance whether an upgrade is in your mind, eh?

STR-DN1010: Sony's First 3D Compatible Audio/Video Receiver

Today, Sony introduced the 7.1 channel STR-DN1010 with HDM 1.4 that supports 3D pass-through technology: the receiver’s HDMI 3D pass-through technology supports 3D video from connected devices and passes them through to a 3D compatible high definition television, while decoding high-resolution audio codecs. The STR-DN1010 A/V receiver will be available that June for about $500.

Specifications include:

  • 7.1 channel, 110 watts ability per channel @8-Ohms, 1kHz, 1% THD
  • HDMI™ 1.4 3D pass-through technology
  • full HD 1080/24p
  • seven HD inputs in total (four HDMI and three component)
  • sleek piano black gloss design
  • compatible with both Deep Color™ and x.v.Color™
  • Digital Media Port (DMP) to connect an iPhone or an iPod
  • compatible with advanced audio codecs, including Dolby® TrueHD, dts®-HD Master Audio

Kyocera unveils smallest LTE base station in the world

Smallest isn't the only superlative to be used in Kyocera's latest towering Term Evolution (LTE) micro base station that will see action at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona next week. In fact, it has "lightest" and "most efficient" to keep it company, and we can't wait to see it in action. Kyocera's prototype LTE micro base station is special in terms of its compact, all-in-one design, where network operators are able to complement current networks by enhancing coverage or adding incremental capacity in high-use areas. It won't weigh more than 12 kg, and boasts 8 watts of transmit capability.

The Pokéwalker will allow you to take your favorite Pokémon with you, probably just to show other folks how addicted you are to the game. You’ll be able to transfer any one of your Pokémon from either of those games into the Pokéwalker, and walk them through virtual routes as you walk around in real life. When you walk, you earn Watts, which can be used within the Pokéwalker to come across and catch wild Pokémon, or even search for hidden items. To compose the deal sweeter, there are special versions of convinced Pokémon that can only be found within routes on the Pokéwalker. At least you’ll be able to exercise a little with that game, instead of sitting around on your sofa. perhaps that will allow you to tell your mom that you’re exercising while playing video game, eh? Come to think of it, they should have introduced that gadget when Pokémon was at the height of its popularity.
