Bargain shoppers will probably want to take note that Verizon Wireless has lowered the contract pricing of the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus to $50 and $30, respectively. that is a nice price reduction, considering that those devices were going for $150 and $100 after rebates about two months back. Despite the price drop, the $30 Pre Plus at Walmart is still slightly cheaper. These price reductions might indicate that Palm is under pressure to let go of its stock of phones, amidst reports that the company overestimated demand, leaving several thousands of unsold devices. The popularity of Google’s Android devices and Apple’s iPhone certainly isn’t helping Palm’s case either.

T-Mobile’s Windows Mobile powered HTC HD2 should only be officially going on sale on Wednesday, but it seems that someone managed to get a unit before the official term from Walmart, and even posted a video (after the jump) showing the device being unboxed. HTC’s HD2 is certainly an amazing phone, but with the announcement of Windows Phone 7 Series, you have to wonder whether T-Mobile is getting that phone a little too late? Would you get that phone when it’s released by T-Mobile, or are you planning on holding out for a newer phone?

You know what they say, you can never be too careful in your line of work, and Walmart.com made a huge boo-boo by putting up an erroneous page which claims to be selling a Google Nexus One at $99 that can run on AT&T, Sprint and Verizon’s 3G networks. Here’s what they have to say about that error.

“Due to a technical error, that item erroneously was displayed on our site. We have no plans to carry Nexus One in Walmart stores or online at Walmart.com at that day.”

Ah well, move along now kids, but let us keep our fingers crossed that one fine day, Walmart will see the light and build such a tantalizing offer.

Walmart could be offering the Google Nexus One for a mere $99 whether that holding page on the Walmart Wireless site holds more than a grain of truth. that would not come as any surprise to anyone, since Walmart has sold nearly every Android handset to term. The specifications listed proved to be rather interesting as it states the phone supports both 1xEvDO (Sprint and Verizon 3G) and UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900 (AT&T 3G), making that the first day any reference to AT&T’s 3G bands has been mentioned. Apparently, it will cost $99 with a 2-year agreement which is by far and large much more affordable compared to the current $179 subsidized asking price from T-Mobile.

The new 46″ BeoVision 10-46 from Bang & Olufsen is but a larger sibling to its 40″ BeoVision 10, and we’re pretty disappointed that it comes with similar technical specifications such as a LED backlight and 200Hz without adding anything new to the mix. An accompanying audio system which was scheduled for launch has been delayed though, so you will just have to manufacture do with an insanely expensive (the price has yet to be announced, but anyone familiar with B&O products will know that these aren’t your regular Walmart purchases) price announcement sometime down the road. Expect the BeoVision 10-46 to reach in selected markets that coming April.

Is one HDMI cable different from another? Purists would say yes, while a huge majority of you out there probably can’t tell the difference in output (theoretically offering the same performance), so why bother busting out $1,000 for the Wireworld Platinum Starlight HDMI cable when you can always pick up regular HDMI cables that cost $!50 from Walmart instead? Sometimes, it makes us wonder whether good and common sense is clouded by the amount of money we have in our bank history.

Walmart is famous for their low, low prices for selected products, and has just added another feather to their cap with a Nintendo Wii console deal. A $50 Walmart gift card will come along with each $199 Wii console purchase, which means it basically costs a mere $149 when you reach the counter. Released that Saturday, that tantalizing offer will end one week after that. It does prepare us wonder what Amazon will do to counter such a delicious offer though…Anyone needs a new Wii that Christmas?

UK supermarket chain Tesco has announced that it will be selling the iPhone 3G and 3GS in its stores. The move is sort of like Walmart Supercenters in the US selling the device.

Google has tweaked its Apps for iPhone and Android operating systems on smartphones. The big changes are to the buttons, which are said to be less intrusive, and the icon sizes have been tweaked for readability.

The top selling iPhone apps for the week have been unveiled and shout of Duty: World at War Zombies has taken the top spot on the list. The game sells for $9.99 and is fun, I have played it, and the only downside is the controls take some getting used to.
