The Volkswagen bik.e is now part of the electrical vehicle revolution, where it represents a tiny bicycle sans pedals since you rely on its internal battery to get you moving. When not in use, it will fold down quickly into a flat disc which will fit into the spare tire compartment that is located at the bottom of most car trunks. VW claims that the bik.e will have a working range of approximately 12.5 miles, hitting a top speed of 12.5mph. No view on its carging date, but it seems that the bik.e’s batteries can be juiced up by a car’s DC current and through a standard AC plug as well.

Based on all the concept designs that pop up from day to moment, the vehicles of the future will all be eco-friendly, so whether you’ve been dreaming of a fire-breathing monster car, you’ll probably have to build one yourself. Designer Ricardo Fedrizzi has come up with a rather pretty design for his Bug electric car, which obviously has taken some hints from Volkswagen. The design calls for use of recyclable and renewable materials, such as polymers with a load of vegetable fiber, keeping the weight down. In that design, the glass windows and windshield have additionally been made lighter and safer, using resilient polycarbonate, though it’s worth checking whether it might bring about safety concerns. whether everything goes according to plan, that vehicle will be a zero-emission machine that can be manufactured at an affordable price.

For many of us, it is a nice, hot cup of coffee that keeps us going through the day, which strangely decent is the same case for the Carpuccino that you see above. What used to be a standard 1988 Volkswagen Scirocco is now a coffee-powered car, but mileage isn’t that ideal (and a waste of good coffee, we might add) since it requires 56 espressos for a without mile. It will run on any sort as lengthy as the coffee is very dry and comes in a pellet scheme factor that enables the air to move through the pile of coffee as it burns.

Volkswagen has decided to debut its Up! Lite concept car at the 2009 LA Auto Show, offering decent room to seat four society as it ambles about the city. Underneath the hood, you will find an efficient TDI engine, an electric motor and a 7-speed Direct Shift Gearbox which work well to conclusion in a small aerodynamic footprint (Cd value of 0.237), ekeing out an impressive 65 g/km of CO2 emissions. Many components within are made of carbon fiber, resulting in it weighing a mere 695kg. The Up! Lite will most likely never enter production, but you could see future Volkswagen vehicles incorporate technology within.
