Google Voice on Android has received a little boost in terms of notification speed. Before that, users would receive notifications of new messages in their inbox within 15 minutes of when they were sent. Now with the latest feature from Google, Inbox synchronization, Android powered devices can be notified of new text messages or voicemail within seconds of receiving new messages in your Google Voice inbox. Google Voice will even automatically disable SMS forwarding to your mobile phone when you go down that path, ensuring that you won’t receive duplicate notifications. The updated application is currently available in the Android Market and is currently only available in the U.S. only.

Folks who are on O2’s network, have you been experiencing problems with your documents network? Reports are going around that O2 has been suffering from issues with its info network, and a day or so ago, subscribers were unable to use notes on the network, which O2 claimed was related to the issue of IP addresses. Later in the day, Web connections were resumed, but MMS and Visual Voicemail were still problematic. Could that been a similar scenario to AT&T not being about to handle the amount of traffic that the iPhone generates? Whatever the situation, it would be to O2’s (and certainly the end user’s) benefit that the issue is sorted out ASAP. Drop us a comment and let us know whether you’ve been experiencing similar problems.
