The Viewsonic VNB106D netbook is the latest netbook to hit the UK market, and it pretty much stays true to the traditional netbook formula including a 10″ display at 1,024 x 600 resolution, an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive and Windows 7 Starter as the operating system of choice. Doesn’t look like much of a looker, but whether you want to be an ordinary Joe who blends in with the rest of society, soon after the VNB106D might just be your cup of tea.

For those who are looking for a new notebook and want something different from what most bigwig names offer, there is always the ViewSonic ViewBook Pro which should be readily available in store shelves, boasting an Intel Core 2 Duo processor accompanied by a 13.3? LED backlit 1,280 x 800 resolution display, 2GB RAM, a 320GB hard drive, an integrated DVD drive, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, VGA, HDMI output and an ExpressCard slot for expansion aspirations. Despite packing in all of that, it tips the scales at a mere 1.63kg, which is a feat by itself considering you have an optical drive within. Amazon is carrying the ViewSonic ViewBook Pro for $889.99.

ViewSonic plus wants in on the 3D game with their pair of 3D glasses known as the PGD-150. The company already has a range of 3D projectors for the masses, relying on the NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision system in order to create the 3D effect, so why not complete the experience by offering their own pair of active shutter glasses? The PGD-150 glasses will come in a black frame with the IR sensor positioned right among the eyes. Basically, it looks like a much more contemporary version of the traditional, box-like paper red and blue glasses from the days of yore. You will be pleased to know that ViewSonic won’t charge an arm and a leg for the PGD-150 glasses unlike its competitors, as it will retail for less than $100.

Our friends at Cloned in China managed to get their hands on the ViewSonic VPC08 which was released sometime last year, and that MID/cellphone hybrid is just not something you would want whether everything else in your gadget collection is thin and slim. Underneath the hood, you will find an Intel Atom Z500 800MHz processor, alongside a MTK 6235 chipset that caters for the phone system. Apart from that, your eyes will be treated to a 4.3″ display at 800 × 480 resolution for Windows XP aims, and a 2″ 240 × 320 resolution display meant for the phone system. Internal storage is provided via an 8GB SSD, while you get Wi-Fi, a 2-megapixel camera and EV-DO 3G radio support. Would you fork out $700 for something like that? It seems to us as though it is occupying no man’s land, and we hope to see future iterations that are sleeker whether it were to move more units in the market.

ViewSonic has just introduced its Android-powered VTablet 101 yesterday, where you will find a rather speedy 1Ghz ARM A9 SMP processor within alongside a NVIDIA Tegra T20 chipset which ought to supply more than sufficient graphical firepower wherever you are. In addition, the VTablet 101 will plus come with an 8.9″ display at 1,024 × 800 resolution coupled with a front camera, 4GB of internal flash memory, 3D graphics capability, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity as well as 3G support. While it will retail for $440 thereabouts after conversion, there is no mention of the VTablet 101 hitting the US market. Hmm, ebook readers and tablets are walking an extremely tight line where their functions tend to blur with one another as more players enter the market.

ViewSonic is entering the crowded Netbook market with the VNB102, a ViewBook that resemble offerings from other grades. The specifications are standard: Atom 1.6Ghz, 160GB hdd, 10″ 1024×600 display, Win7 Starter, 2.4lbs. There’s nothing out of the ordinary about it. The VNB1002 will be priced at $399 (MSRP), but note that similarly configured Netbooks can be bought at street prices starting from $320 (source: newegg). What do you think? Is that too little, too late? In your opinion, should ViewSonic enter that market differently?

ViewSonic is proudly showing off its mobile Net device (MID) which is powered by Windows XP. While the full specifications for the device aren’t available just yet, we do know that it should be powered by a 1.1GHz Intel Atom Z510 processor, sport a touchscreen, 1GB or RAM, 10GB of built-in storage and the ability to connect to 3G goods networks. Aside from that, there is additionally a built-in tuner and antenna to receive digital TV broadcasts. There isn’t any word just yet as to when the ViewSonic N01 will be released, or at what cost.
