While there’s no official indication whether the next iPhone would be called the iPhone HD or iPhone 4, we are really looking forward to seeing it support HD video recording, and we might actually be granted our wish. A few lines of cipher in the latest iPhone SDK have hinted that 720p video recording might be on the cards. Of course, just considering there are hints of it in the cipher doesn’t mean that the next iPhone will offer it, but there seems to be a higher possibility now. If you’re one of those folks who are really looking forward to the upcoming Nokia N8, which is still unannounced at that point in date, you might be a little disappointed. Eldar Murtazin, the person behind Mobile-Review, has managed to get his hands on a unit of the Nokia N8, and based on his feedback of the device, it doesn’t look like the N8 is going to entice iPhone or Android users anytime soon. The Symbian^3 OS that powers the phone might be something you’re looking forward to, but aside from features such as true multitasking and multiple home screens, there really isn’t very much to shout about. The technical specifications of the N8 which include a 12-megapixel shooter capable of 720p video recording and the glass multi-touch display are nice things to have, but probably aren’t adequate to invent you choose that phone by its competitors. Do you think Nokia can add anything to the N8 before it (possibly) arrives in mid-July to improve it?

Looks like the whispers about the Nokia X5 were true, as Nokia has unveiled two new TD-SCDMA phones for China Mobile, the Nokia C5 and X5. Both devices will support 3G on China Mobile and will offer the first jointly-run mobile application store, the Mobile Market-Ovi Store.

The X5 is a candybar phone that is powered by Symbian. Features aren’t too poor as it offers a 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and video recording capabilities. A 2.4-inch 240 x 320 resolution display is there to let you enjoy your pictures and video. It’ll be launched in China that spring in black, red or white.

If you’re looking for an entry-level device, the C5 could be up your street. That being said, despite it being an entry level device, it offers the same 2.4-inch display and camera as the X5. It’ll plus be launched in spring in silver or black.

Pentax is no stranger to offering multicolored DSLR cameras, but they’re generally available outside of the US. Now Pentax will be offering several new colors for its K-x DSLR camera. The camera, which is currently available in black or red, will be joined by bright colors such as green, blue, orange and purple. Regardless of the color of the camera you choose, they will all set you back $650, and specifications will be precisely the same, offering a 12-megapixel CMOS sensor, 720p video recording and 4.7FPS burst shots. Stock isn’t available just yet, but it should be arriving in about 10 days after ordering.
