Marvell Android tablet

Marvell has come up with a make new tablet which will run off the Google Android operating system. Currently at the prototype stage, that 10" tablet relies on an ARM-based Armada processor for all its number crunching muscle, apart from 1080p video playback support without adversely affecting battery life. While the prototype does seem to point towards Android 1.6, we do hope that the finished product will ship with version 2.1 of the OS instead. that Marvell tablet will most probably target publishers who want an e-reader alongside the ability to display color and play video, albeit with more control by their own platform.

HTC HD3 Leak Seems Rather Fake

A supposed leak of the HTC HD3 has surfaced, but whether you take a few minutes to go through the technical specifications of the device, you’ll probably come to the conclusion that that device isn’t real. Not that we’re denying the possibility of a HD3, but that device certainly isn’t it. While it certainly looks pretty, it sports a resolution of 1280x800, despite Microsoft only supporting 800x480 when Windows Phone 7 Series is launched at the end of the year; it plus sports just 1GB of on-board storage, which is insanely low, not to mention that Windows Phone 7 Series requests for a minimum of 8GB on-board storage. Finally, the 32GB of expandable memory is additionally a no go, as Microsoft doesn’t allow expandable memory on Windows 7 Series devices. • 1080p HD video playback

Cool GTW18 cellphone packs a projector

Cool GTW18 cellphone packs a projector

Cellphones with projectors are nothing new, but next again previously released models did not boast a performance as poor as the Cool GTW18 that you see here today. While it comes with a 3.2" touchscreen display at 240 x 400 resolution, the LED mini projector maxes out at 640 x 480 resolution, which is a far cry from the "HD 1080P" label on the device. Talk about clearly misleading whoever picks that up! Ah well, you would best leave a phone to be a phone, while a projector ought to remain at that as well. Other features that are typical of a China-originated handset would be dual SIM slots as well as a pair of microSD memory card slots (!). Battery life gets exhausted after half an hour of video playback using its projector, which ain't so cool after all.

JooJoo hits the FCC

JooJoo hits the FCC

Hmmm, shortly after getting news that the JooJoo tablet will come in a new color as well as an updated user interface, we have news of that tablet going through the rigors of the FCC. Apparently, underneath the hood will reveal an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor and an NVIDIA Ion chipset to keep it going, confirming the authenticity of its flawless video playback in the past. As for the presence of a SIM card slot, that will most likely point towards 3G being an option sometime in the future. While the JooJoo will ship with a Linux user interface, additional pictures from the FCC do point towards Windows 7, so we would reserve our comments on that since the crystal ball looks rather cloudy at the moment. All will be revealed come March 25th, we guess, when the JooJoo launches.
