It seems that the iPad Camera Connection Kit does come in handy, as it offers USB headset and keyboard support alongside the ability to connect to an external USB hard drive as well, although you will first need to jailbreak your precious iPad while relying on a split-USB cable to supply ample ability and a terminal of sorts (a MacBook suffices in that case) to coerce the iPad into mounting your external storage. Definitely unwieldy and something meant to be confined to your carport, but you now know such a setup is possible alongside the constraints that Apple has placed on their iPad.

At first glance, the OCZ Enyo USB 3.0 SSD drive looks pretty delectable, although upon closer inspection, you might feel that that looks more like a render than an actual product shot. We don’t blame you whether you feel that way, considering the mass consumer market doesn’t seem to be ready to pick up a 256GB SSD which boasts notes transfer speeds of at least 150MB/s yet at the moment. No notion on how much such a SSD will cost when officially released, but you can be your bottom dollar it isn’t going to be a synonym of cheap or affordable.

We’ve seen many Steampunk USB flash drives, but that Waterproof Steampunk USB flash drive does stand out from the crowd, possibly due to its use of various materials including brass, copper, glass and even a genuine quartz crystal. To build things even prettier, it comes with a large glass window, allowing you to view the guts of your flash drive, as well as the crystal. All that beauty comes at a price, though, $125 to be exact.

Fancy picking up a USB flash drive with a game bundled as well? That’s what Patriot Memory is offering with their Patriot Xporter USB flash drive that has a preloaded copy of the zero gravity first-person shooter known as Shattered Horizon. that bundle will be accompanied by a Steam download cipher that allows users to download and install the game, taking the jump into the action in a jiffy. You will be able to choose from 8GB and 16GB USB flash drives initially, although future Patriot products will plus include a copy of the Shattered Horizon game, albeit we have no word from Patriot Memory on when precisely that will be.

Folks by in Europe looking for a secure USB flash drive will be happy to know that the DataTraveler 5000 USB Flash Drive from Kingston is now available in Europe. We previously told you that that drive is FIPS 140-2 Level 2 certified with Level 3 pending, and offers built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption for another layer of protection. To further enhance the defense of your input, the drive uses both XTS cipher mode and elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) algorithms that so that it meets Suite B standards approved by the US government. The DataTraveler 5000 is currently available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities for 82 Euro (about $108), 103 Euro (about 136), 129 Euro (about $170) and 298 Euro (about $394), respectively.

The folks by at Lok-it have a solution that aims to help you keep your private files private on your flash drive. The Lok-it secure USB flash drive doesn’t allow the contents of the flash drive to be accessed until you’ve entered the exact password on the drive. Without the password, the drive will not even show up as active hardware, preventing any communication amidst the host computer and the drive unless authorized. The 256-bit AES encryption should be good sufficient to prevent folks from snooping around your files, and ten lost out attempts at the password will wipe the input. Check out a video on that flash drive after the jump.

Thanks to the speedy connection, that device supports a details transfer speed of 6GB/s. There isn’t any data on pricing or availability at the moment.

The Kingmax PD-02 USB flash drive sports a simple streamlined design and won’t hurt your pocket too much in terms of pricing, since Kingmax wants to form it accessible to a whole lot of public across a wide spectrum. It comes with a slide-out USB connector, ensuring you won’t need to run the risk of losing the cap any more, while an anti-scratch body makes it all the more durable to tote around. Too poor that has not moved on to USB 3.0 connectivity, so you’re stuck with USB 2.0 in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities.

The SyncBox that you see here lets you transfer notes from an USB device to another without the need for a computer to operate as a middleman, for example sending photos from your camera by to a USB flash drive. Powered by a trio of AAA batteries, it retails for €31.90. Heck, it even supports full disk copy and designated folder copy for added flexibility, and taking just a separate button to operate, you can’t get any more idiot proof than that.

Adidas has a very own USB flash drive which it uses for marketing desires, and check out the design in which it comes in – it resembles a miniature roll-on suitcase with the eponymous three stripes. Gotta love the way the USB connector reveals itself and hides away once it is not needed, eh? We do wonder whether other rival sporting companies will come up with special designs of their own.
