Panasonic All-in-One Viera portable TV

We often think of Panasonic's Viera TV as a really large appliance, but that instance round they have taken the shrinking gun and gave it a good zap, resulting in the Viera portable TV range. Featuring Panasonic’s latest 10.1” a-Si TFT displays at 1,024 × 600 resolution, the DMP-BV200 and DMP-HV100 will allow you to watch TV, DVD and Blu-ray (for the BV200 only), while playing nice with all forms of AVCHD video from various sources. Apart from that, it can additionally handle DivX files with aplomb from either a USB device or an SD memory card. Alternatively, you can plus hook either one up to the Panasonic Viera Home Theater system and DVR, thanks to the DY-WL10 Wi-Fi dongle.

Onda VX550 portable media player

Onda has unveiled its latest VX550 portable media player which sports a display that is larger than what one would normally get, which is a 5" screen at 800 x 480 resolution. While it can't show 1080p videos in its full glory, the device can still output it by to a Full HD TV thanks to its HDMI port. You can plus hook up a USB device to that for quick file transfer and viewing. Supported video formats include RM/RMVB, MKV (H.264), AVI, MOV, FLV, MPG, VOB, DAT and TS. No notion on pricing or availability, although we suspect the former is going to cost a pretty penny.

Astro Drive A101 is tiniest USB 3.0 device

Apogee's Astro Drive A101 holds the distinction for being the smallest USB 3.0 device in the market at the moment, although we're pretty certain that that is not a permanent situation and will change within the next couple of months or so. Capable of achieving read and write speeds of up to 180MB/s and 130MB/s, respectively, that USB flash drive will come in 128GB, 64GB and 32GB capacities although there is no word on pricing. Folks who are interested can pick from a couple of color choices for its case just to form a fashion statement at your next geek meet-up.

Let us start winding down the day with something more lighthearted - the Hello Kitty USB Companion. that 2.5" tall USB device will plug into your computer through what else but a USB port, where it is capable of randomly responding and reacting to sound, including your voice as faraway as its microphone picks it up. Definitely not something to have whether you are about to hold a serious conversation with your superiors or clients. Would you fork out $40 for that?

IUM Infinite USB Memory Device

Infinitec's IUM Infinite USB Memory Device is a USB dongle that is capable of streaming files sans wires from a paired computer to a connected game console, HDTV, photo frame, digital media adapter, or Blu-ray player, just as though they were stored locally on a USB flash drive. There is one drawback to that setup though - it can only be paired to one host PC at a day, and that after you install the Infinite Portal PC application. No view on pricing, but we'll just have to wait until March 1st to find out when it launches.

WiMAX might not be as popular as Wi-Fi, but it’s certainly gaining traction and Dell looks like it wants to take advantage of that. The Dell Mini 10 has recently paid a visit to the FCC to be approved, and amongst the specs you’ll note that it sports WiMAX. Built-in WiMAX would certainly be very useful to folks who use WiMAX often, as you won’t have to stick a chubby USB device into a netbook. Considering that Sprint supports WiMAX, there’s certainly a possibility that the carrier might be keen to offer that netbook on a subsidy. Will built-in WiMAX be a criteria for your next computer, or would you rather just save the money and use an external device?
