Matias USB 2.0 Keyboard Smartphone Stand
February 26, 2010

A keyboard is a keyboard, right? Matias does not think so with their new USB 2.0 keyboard offering which sports a smartphone stand. Yes, that's right - you get to spruce up that all white keyboard with the presence of your docked iPhone, although in the lengthy run it could prove to be more of a distraction than anything else since you will keep on replying text messages and emails that come in instead of working on that spreadsheet as commanded by the higher up powers. that peripheral comes with a couple of USB 2.0 ports behind, printed Mac symbols on the keys and a numeric keypad. Now available for Mac for $50, it will reach on the Windows platform in the near future, too - we're assuming the keyboard layout will be changed slightly next to accommodate Windows users.

Generic Mini-USB pico projector
February 11, 2010

Are you on an extremely tight budget and yet want a projector that is small and portable and yet offers a decent performance? The Generic Mini-USB pico projector might be just your cup of tea, as that $149 pico projector comes with the standard 640 x 480 resolution, throwing a display of up to 50" in size. Strangely suitable, our source says that it can only operate with a notebook - but a quick check with the product page on Amazon shows otherwise, as expanded as there is a USB 2.0 port on your machine, it can work. Guess nobody would want to lug their desktop around when making presentations, hence that assumption.

iTablet from X2 of the UK
February 5, 2010

X2 of UK will be revealing a new device known as the iTablet in the near future, and we have no view on whether the folks at X2 went ahead with that naming convention considering that they know Apple is more than ready to roll out the iPad, in order to gain attention and free publicity, or do they think that they really have a chance legally to keep the naming convention considering Apple owns the iTablet.com domain? The iTablet is powered by Windows 7, and runs off an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, coming in 10.2" and 12.1" sizes while carrying a 250GB hard drive, a 3G chip and supports Bluetooth connectivity. Unlike the iPad, the iTablet is a proper computing device, boasting a trio of USB 2.0 ports, HDMI out support and a 1.3-megapixel camera. It will only hit the market that April for a yet unannounced price.
