MSI has a type new X-Slim X360 notebook for the masses, where that slim model will be powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, aided by Intel's Turbo Boost/Hyper-Threading technology alongside a 13" display at 1,366 x 768 resolution, up to a 500GB hard drive, a 2-in-1 memory card reader, HDMI/VGA output, a couple of USB 2.0 ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a pair of speakers, a 1.3-megapixel camera and up to 4GB RAM. No concept on pricing or availability yet, but that is even more reason to start saving up from now on whether you want one.

Panasonic Let's Note R9 high end notebook

Panasonic's Let's Note R9 notebook is a high end 10" model that sports a 1,024 x 768 resolution for its 10.4" display, powered by an Intel Core i7 processor that might just surprise citizens who would most probably mistake that for an Atom-powered netbook instead. Heck, even that processor can be overclocked to 2.13GHz using Intel’s Turbo boost technology. Tipping the scales at less than 2.1 pounds, its 3100mAh battery is capable of powering the Panasonic Let's Note R9 for up to 7.5 hours, although we're not too certain what kind of settings the R9 runs during examining. Other specifications include 2GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive, Wi-Fi connectivity, an SDHC memory card slot and Windows 7 Professional. It will reach in Japan first, retailing for a pip below $2,000 after conversion.

Toshiba unveils new business laptops

Toshiba has further expanded their business laptop lines with the Tecra A11 and Qosmio X500 models, targeting the business community. Apart from that, the Satellite Pro Series plus received more additions with the new Satellite Pro L450 and Satellite Pro L500. Firstly, the Tecra A11 will come in a thinner and lighter design compared to its oredecessorm, where you get a 10-key numeric keypad to help you crunch those figures on a spreadsheet as well. It will be driven by the new 2010 Intel Core processors, accompanied by a 15.6" display and a NVIDIA GeForce 512MB graphics card for a spot of portable gaming during those towering waiting times at the airport. As for the Qosmio X500, engineers, designers and substance creators will most probably keep a keen eye out for that model since it will run on the latest Intel Core i7-720QM quad-core processor with Turbo Boost Technology, coupled with NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M graphics and up to 8GB of RAM. Lugging that 18.4" monster around could prove to be a literally hefty task, but portable computing capability always comes with a tradeoff even until today.

[CES 2010] Toshiba's next-generation thin and light laptop, the E205, is now available on Best Buy, where it has bragging rights of being the first few laptops out of the door that come with Intel Wireless Display technology. Basically, that means severing physical ties with your HDTV, where you can stream movies and photographs as well as other digital subject matter to your HDTV with a simple button press. that laptop tips the scales at a mere 5.1 pounds, measuring no more than 1.2" thin while boasting the all-new Intel Core i5-430M processor with Turbo Boost Technology to supply above average performance while you're at work, masterfully churning out PowerPoint presentations at your boss' inquiry. For $999.99 upwards, you get a 14" widescreen LED Backlit display, an LED backlit keyboard, a touchpad with Multi-touch Control, a slot-loading DVD drive, half a terabyte of storage space, 4GB RAM, Wi-Fi N connectivity and an HDMI port. Running on Windows 7 Home Premium, the Toshiba E205 ought to last up to six hours at best, so we're probably looking at four hours plus (give or take) in real world performance. You can't just waltz into any Best Buy now and pick that up - it is available from January 17th onwards.

Intel To Preview Mobile Core i5

Intel is planning to detail the first processors based on its 32 nanometer Westmere technology that Thursday. The focus on Thursday should be its first dual-core notebook chips based on the 32nm process, and should include the mobile Core i5 and i3. The interesting part will be that these processors will be the first to carry graphics on the processor die. Let’s not forget that the Core i5 models will additionally support Turbo Boost to automatically by one core when the other core is shut down.

Intel roadmap leaked

Another day, another leak. that date round we have a leaked image of the upcoming Intel roadmap that shows off the budget Core i3 and a low-power i5 processor marked with an "S." No view on what "S" stands for, but the Core i5 processor will consume less juice at 82W compared to 95W currently. As for the Core i3, it will shed the Turbo Boost feature to be friendlier on your pockets. As for the Core i9 Gulftown chip, that won't reach until Q2 next year with the possibility of it seeing action in the next Mac Pro.
