Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 10-46

Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 10-46

The new 46" BeoVision 10-46 from Bang & Olufsen is but a larger sibling to its 40" BeoVision 10, and we're pretty disappointed that it comes with similar technical specifications such as a LED backlight and 200Hz without adding anything new to the mix. An accompanying audio system which was scheduled for launch has been delayed though, so you will just have to manufacture do with an insanely expensive (the price has yet to be announced, but anyone familiar with B&O products will know that these aren't your regular Walmart purchases) price announcement sometime down the road. Expect the BeoVision 10-46 to reach in selected markets that coming April.

Versace teams up with ModeLabs

Versace teams up with ModeLabs

Is fashion house Versace that starved for money that they have to take the route of other labels to come up with a cellphone? Guess so, as Versace cuddles up to ModeLabs to announce a new range of luxury handsets. Expect the first of potentially many Versace phones to be showcased in Paris later that month, although it won't reach Stateside until spring that year. We don't know much about what the Versace-branded handset will offer in terms of technical specifications, but we do know you will like it whether bling's your thing. Get that only whether you have plenty of disposable income to spare - and we're talking about the purchase bill running into the thousands even perhaps.

Epson BrightLink 450Wi interactive projector

Epson BrightLink 450Wi interactive projector

Epson's latest foray into the projector market comes in the structure of the BrightLink 450Wi interactive projector, where it is capable of turning virtually any whiteboard or smooth wall into an interactive learning area. that will definitely introduce some much-needed cost savings as there is no need to fork out more dough for committed interactive whiteboards (IWB). Equipped with a couple of digital infrared pens to help you "draw" and "write" on the projected surface, educators will be better able to engage students in a more interactive manner. On to the technical specifications - the BrightLink 450Wi has 2,500 lumens white light output and 2,500 lumens color light output, throwing out WXGA resolution in 16:10 aspect ratio while hitting projected images ranging from 55" to 96". Apart from that, there is Ultra-Short Throw Distance that allows you to mount the 450Wi from a mere 2.8" away - now how about that! whether your organization is interested, the Epson BrightLink 450Wi will hit the market that spring for less than $2,000. Would that revolutionize the classrom and lecture halls? Perhaps only in developed countries, but emerging markets will still continue to use the whiteboard and blackboard for a expanded moment to come.

Is A Google Branded Netbook Coming?

Is A Google Branded Netbook Coming?

Now that most citizens have accepted the (still unofficial) situation that Google will be offering its own phone in 2010, speculation is growing that the company might plus offer its own netbook. After all, we do know that Google has started to dip its feet into the OS market, and is working with the big boys such as Acer, ASUS, Freescale, HP, Lenovo and many others. That’s probably quite similar to the situation with Android when it was launched, so could it be going down the same path, and end up with Google coming up with its own Google-branded netbook? TechCrunch has reported that Google has given a company a RFP (request for proposal) with detailed technical specifications regarding a netbook, and has even begun discussions on building it. Do you think that it might be a possibility that we’ll be seeing a Google netbook sometime in the near future?

BenQ nReader K60 offers more competition

BenQ nReader K60 offers more competition

Looks like the e-book reader market is heating up, with so many more players making their entrance. Case in point, the new nReader K60 from BenQ which will come with a 6" touchscreen e-paper display which relies on SiPix Microcup technology, boasting 800 x 600 resolution alongside the capability to display 16 grey scales. Pretty much similar to the Amazon Kindle in terms of technical specifications, although it misses out on the Kindle's keyboard while being a wee bit smaller and lighter. Other features include 2GB internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, a microUSB port, an USB 2.0 port and a 3.5mm audio jack. Expect that puppy to handle all relevant file formats, including ePub, PDF, TXT and HTML alongside audio and image file formats as well. While it comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, a USB port on top of the device could prove to be its trump card, allowing USB 3G dongles to be connected for portable Web access. BenQ touts a 7,500 page turning experience per full charge, but that rules out Wi-Fi and 3G access.
