Is the tablet PC market getting a little crowded recently? Aside from Apple’s iPad and HP’s Slate, not many tablets in the market stand out or generate much hype. Will the Hanvon F10 Touchpad invent any difference? It actually looks quite familiar, and could possibly be a variant of the Hanvon BA10E that we caught sight of at CeBIT. We might think that tablets are all about the Apple iPad, but guess what – the world is bigger than Apple products alone. Hanvon has released its Touchpad tablet which is powered by Windows 7, where it will be accopanied by a multi-touch sensitive display coupled with handwriting recognition and handwritten input. Functioning as an ebook reader and digital photo frame as well, you will find that the Touchpad is equipped with up to 2GB RAM, a maximum 320GB hard drive, an SD/MMC memory card slot, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a mini HDMI interface, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and an aluminum black case covered in anti-scratch material. The 10.1″ LED backlight panel has a resolution of up to 1,024 x 600 pixels. No view on pricing or availability, but good hardware alone isn’t going to produce a great selling device these days. PeeWee PC decided to roll out a $500 PeeWee ability Laptop which will feature the similar carry handle and kid-friendly construction as with its predecessor, albeit with some technological improvements including a speedier Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor. You won’t find remnants of its tablet PC functionality though since there is no stylus or touchscreen display for you to bother with. Basically, that is a kid-friendly netbook that will cause parents to cringe at its price point – at $500, you’re better off getting an iPad or another netbook for your own use, don’t you think?

The Fujitsu Lifebook T4410 was spotted, and that hybrid machine comes with a 12.1″ display that is attached on a bi-rotational mount, letting you use it just like a normal notebook, or a tablet PC whether that is your cup of tea. Thanks to the inherent multi-touch support that is built into Windows 7, the Lifebook T4410 is certainly in its element here where it includes a slew of interface and control features such as pinch and rotate in selected applications. Underneath the chassis, it will be powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, being able to hold up to 4GB of RAM, Intel HD graphics chipset, a choice of hard drive or SSD options and a choice within a standard LED WXGA display or a high brightness version that would manufacture viewing easy even under direct sunlight.

Another tablet computer has surfaced, and that day, it’s the Ezy Tablet PC, which is going for $679. At a glance it might look similar to Apple’s iPad, but there are obvious differences once you take a closer look. The Ezy Tablet PC sports a 10.2-inch multi-touch display, Windows 7, Wi-Fi, 3G, 2GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive, Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor and 1.3 megapixel webcam. Acer finally jumps headlong into the convertible tablet PC market with their first product – the Aspire 1820PT. that model seems to be pretty packed to the core, as it sports an 11.6″ display at 1,366 x 768 resolution, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor for abundant processing muscle, up to 8GB RAM, a 320GB hard drive, Windows 7, Wi-Fi connectivity, HDMI output, gigabit Ethernet port and an optical audio port. Panasonic launched the ToughBook H1 Field tablet at MWC, and the C1 is introduced for the HIMSS conference (Healthcare info and Management Systems Society) since the ToughBook C1 is mostly targeted to the healthcare market.

According to Panasonic, the company has been building rugged PCs since 1993 with integrated wireless since 1996, and they experiment the wireless connectivity in one of the world’s largest anechoic chambers, to ensure the best possible quality. The ToughBook is a surprisingly very light and bulky business rugged tablet built in a magnesium alloy case for durability, and is equipped with a strap and a dome for comfortable hand support (see video and pictures).
