The Nokia N8 has already been cloned, can you believe it or not? that clone surely looks a whole lot like Nokia’s original Symbian^3-powered model, although you can be certain that the specifications are far from it. The 3.2″ display comes with a paltry 400 x 240 resolution, not to mention an integrated FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity and a battery which supposedly lasts anywhere from 3 to 5 hours. Yeah, we’re scratching our heads as well at that kind of battery life – what is that, 1980? Obviously, that clone is badly lost a 12-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi connectivity and integrated 3G support, but all of that is fair considering the $105 price tagged to it.

The Zeemote will be able to work great with the Android operating system, simply considering the Android SDK (Software Development Kit) for the Zeemote Game Controller is now available. that makes the Zeemote compatible with yet another platform, where it already plays nice with BlackBerry, Symbian and lower-end J2ME phones. Folks who are interested in offering support for the Zeemote will be able to check out the developer page, where you will have to wait for a few more weeks before the SDK is released good and proper.

It seems that at least six Japanese companies, which include NTT DoCoMo, Renesas Electronics, Fujitsu, NEC, Panasonic Mobile and Sharp, have teamed up to come up with a new mobile application platform which will target Symbian and Linux mobile operating systems. The reason behind the collaboration isn’t entirely clear at the moment, but whether you think about it, these companies can save a lot of moment and effort whether they didn’t have to rely on their individual resources to develop new things. Said group has promised improved processing speeds for high-quality video and enhanced 3D graphics processing for advanced mobile multimedia functions. The platform that is developed will be offered to mobile phone manufacturers around the world, and is scheduled to be ready by late 2011 or early 2012.

Word is going around that the Nokia N8 has been delayed. While there haven’t been any official details on the phone yet, rumor has it that thanks to the delay, we’ll have to wait until mid-July for a release. A tipster has said that O2 UK already has the N8 in its stock system, but it won’t be arriving for a while. Specifications haven’t been release yet, but so far it should sport a 12-megapixel camera, 720p HD video recording capability, HDMI output, 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen and might be powered by the Symbian Foundation’s Symbian^3 operating system. Are you looking forward to that phone?

If you’ve been hankering after the Nokia X6 16GB for some date now, soon after you might want to check out Nokia’s US flagship stores at Chicago and New York, where the smartphone is retailing for $455 inclusive of tax. You won’t be able to purchase it online though since no retailers have them in stock just yet, but we’re pretty certain that that situation will change in the instant future. Just to refresh your memory, the Nokia X6 16GB is powered by Symbian^1 and sports 16GB of internal memory, a 5-megapixel camera and a 3.2″ capacitive touchscreen display among others.

Nokia’s X10 Symbian S^3-powered smartphone seems to have suffered from a leak, where one is able to catch a glimpse of its sliding QWERTY keyboard alongside an ARM Cortex A8 600MHz processor running underneath the hood. 256MB RAM, a choice of 32GB or 16GB of internal flash memory, a 5-megapixel camera, video shout support and a 3.2″ AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display rounds off the list of features. Shame about the megapixel count on the Nokia X10, since we’ve progressed to 8-megapixels and beyond for quite some moment already where high-end handsets are concerned.

Guess the moment honored tradition of reading bedtime stories to your little ones before they nod off could vanish one day due to the advent of e-books. Take a look at the number of e-book readers in the market already, and with the impending launch of the Apple iPad, it seems as though the ordinary book doesn’t hold any more appeal, particularly to the younger generation. Let Penguin inculcate the love for reading with their Qbook digital picture book. These digital tomes were specially designed to be interactive. where one relies on the Swipe-to-Read operate on the story, letting little ones run their fingers across the words and letters in order to take in the story read aloud while enjoying a change in color as well as pop-up graphics. Not only that, the Touch-to-Hear operate plus enables kids to take in the individual word spoken in order to further improve their vocabulary. Apart from the Apple device family, Qbooks can be found on Windows 7, Symbian and Android platforms that coming May.

Details of Samsung’s upcoming Bada OS aren’t as abundant as Google’s Android or Symbian, but Samsung is busy working on its previously mentioned Bada OS, and the company certainly seems confident about it. In a recent update, Samsung’s mobile division President, Shin Jong-Kyun has boasted that they will be seeing a big success with Bada, not to mention the number of Bada-powered devices will rise significantly that year. It’ll be interesting to see how Bada compares against the other mobile operating systems such as Symbian, Windows Mobile, iPhone OS and of course, Google’s Android (which is riding a huge wave of momentum at the moment). The First Bada-powered phone will be released in late March or early April, so we’ll definitely be looking forward to that. With more and more competition in the mobile space, it looks like the cell phone war isn’t going to let up anytime soon.

We’ll be at Barcelona later that month for the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event, and hopefully will be able to stumble upon the Nokia C5 as it has already made its rounds on the Net in the design of leaked images. that could very well be the first C Series smartphone from the Finnish cellphone manufacturer, where it runs on the Symbian S60v3 FP2 release while being accompanied by a 3.2-megapixel camera, a 2.2″ QVGA display, GPS support, an integrated FM radio, 50MB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot. No word on pricing or availability, but we look forward to MWC for its purported unveiling!
