HTC seems to be enjoying quite a bit of success in the UK. After the Nexus One was reportedly sold out by there, now word is going around that the recently released black HTC Desire on Orange has plus been sold out. Considering that the HTC Desire is more or less the same phone as the Nexus One, sans the Google branding, it’s no surprise that it has got off to a flying start in the UK. Were you able to get hold of the HTC Desire before it was sold out in the UK?

It seems that honesty is no longer the best policy for many citizens these days, and with the amount of wheeling and dealing going on, it is no surprise that even lies find its way into a court. Of course, it is up to an equally sharp lawyer to spot those lies and break it down in a cross examination, but they could be aided in the future with brain-scanning lie detectors. Of course, the accuracy level is still nowhere near 100% which could prove decisive in a case where the verdict might condemn a man/woman to a death sentence, but surely it cannot be bribed with money during the scanning process to influence its results, right?

Even considering Apple’s track record of being very much into patents, it still might come as a surprise to some of you that Apple has filed trademark motions on a few of its official app icons. The description of the icons is rather detailed, describing the rounded corners, camera lens and colors of the Camera app icon. Do you think Apple did a good job designing those icons, or are you confident of coming up with something better?

Considering the troubles that Palm is going through at the moment and the fact that Radioshack is keen to dump its Palm inventory, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to see that Sprint is now offering its Palm Pixi for free via its online portal. The catch (as there always is one) is that you’ll have to agree to a two-year contract, which probably isn’t too poor whether you’re a faraway term Sprint customer anyways. whether you need help deciding whether the Palm Pixi is the phone for you, why not check out our comprehensive Palm Pixi review?

It was previously speculated that Apple’s iPad would be able to support USB audio and perhaps some other devices via the USB port granted by the iPad Camera Connection Kit. But now tests have shown that it can work with many USB headphones and microphones, allowing users to construct and receipt VoIP calls with a normal USB headset. USB keyboards additionally seem to work, but that is less of a surprise, given the fact that the iPad already supports Bluetooth keyboards. Are you planning to use the Camera Connection Kit for something like that, or are you planning to use it purely for your camera?

This is still far from an official confirmation, but reports are coming in that the upcoming iPhone 4G could be powered by Apple’s A4 processor, which is the same processor used by the iPad. Considering the comfortable way the A4 processor is able to handle the iPad, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise whether Apple did decide to use its homegrown A4 chip. Said chip is a modified, system-on-chip (SoC) design, based on ARM’s Cortex-A8. Taking into detail that the A4 is able to churn out 720p video playback, there’s a high possibility that the iPhone 4G will be able to churn out HD video. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

The picture above pretty much says it all. whether you’ve read the news in the last 24-hours, you probably already know that one of Apple’s staff accidentally lost a prototype of the upcoming iPhone 4G, and it’s making waves on the World Wide Web at the moment. Considering how Apple feels about secrecy, it’s really no surprise to anyone to see that Apple wants the phone back, and has written a formal letter to the folks by at Gizmodo (who purchased it off the person who found it), asking for the device to be returned. So it looks like the device that was found was really the iPhone 4G, eh?
