Casio Pathfinder PRG110C-3 watch
March 19, 2010

Even watches are trying to go green these days, with the Casio Pathfinder PRG110C-3 watch taking a more literal approach by coming in a fluorescent green shade alongside a tiny solar cell integrated onto its face, harnessing the potential of the sun to charge its built-in battery. Apart from that alternative source of potential, it plus sports an altimeter, barometer, thermometer and digital compass to help you find your way and maintain bearings in the wilderness. Each $250 purchase comes in a recyclable package, and is available from Amazon exclusively. Do you think that they’re late (pun intended) to the green bandwagon considering they manufacture watches? Sanyo Solar Parking at Setagaya Ward
March 16, 2010

Looks like Sanyo made good on their promise to deliver a solar parking area which will capability a century of Sanyo Eneloop Bikes as part of their “Community bicycles” offered by the Setagaya Ward to folks who prefer to bike around after forking out an initial amount. that different parking station will not require any ability from the city's grid, since it relies fully on the sun to juice up the 100 bicycles connected. All coverted solar energy will be redistributed to elements such as LED lighting and other equipment essential to run that operation, while feeding the Backup Batteries as well. We hope to see that implemented in other bicycle-friendly cities as well.

March 11, 2010

The iPhone still suffers from a relatively short battery life till today, and carrying around a portable capability pack is always a good concept whether you happen to need to keep in touch with the world most of the day. Novothink could have a game changing solution with its Solar Surge iPhone case that relies on the capability of the sun to juice up your handset's battery whenever it has access to solar ability, while providing protection against drops and knocks thanks to its soft touch, non-slip finish case. Available in several colors such as black, green, blue and white, the Solar Surge offers up to 4 more hours of battery life. It will retail for $79.95, although an iPod touch version is $10 cheaper.

Sun ability Technology mini-notebook
March 4, 2010

Just when you thought that netbooks and Mobile Net Devices (MIDs) were the smallest category mobile computing machines out there, along comes Sun ability Technology with their, well, device which falls under no man's land. After all, it comes with a 4.8" touchscreen display at 800 x 480 resolution, a QWERTY keyboard, 512MB RAM, flash memory, Wi-Fi connectivity and a battery life which is good for up to 2 hours. Tipping the scales at 1.8 pounds, the QWERTY keyboard looks rather redundant since it isn't large decent for comfortable touch typing, but is more suited for a pair of thumbs. What is that, a thigh book?

Light Tree does the environment good
March 3, 2010

The Light Tree concept you see here is not meant for Christmas date only, as you get solar cells covering most of the artificial tree in order to harness the capability of the sun to juice up its ultra-bright LEDs at the base. All light will diffuse through water which fills the entire cavity of the tree for that glowing look. Nice to know that there is some natural green left in the Light Tree since the upper parts will hold seeds of actual plants - may the heavens keep that concept well watered! Sounds like a decent effort, but we don't think it will build it in the real world due to the high level of vandalism.

PlanetSolar boat runs off the sun
February 26, 2010

The PlanetSolar boat is tipped to invent her maiden round-the-world journey sometime next year after taking 13 months to build. It measures around 102 feet towering, nearly 50 feet wide and stands 24-1/2 feet high, and while that is not the biggest boat in the world, it is the largest where solar-powered vessels are concerned. Hopefully there is a backup ability source of sorts just in case you sail through a week-long storm without any sun in sight.

DIY light-up dog hoodie
February 23, 2010

Val Head has come up with a DIY light-up dog hoodie for her precious pooch, where it lights up automatically whenever its surroundings are dark sufficient. Guess the best date to walk your dog soon after would be just before night moment as the sun is about to vanish by the horizon whether you want to impress other dog owners at your industriousness. Button cell batteries are used in tandem with a small circular pref-board which will hold the photo and other electrical components together. Not too certain whether Fido would want all the attention though.
