HP’s Envy line of notebooks is rather popular, and it seems that we were right when we predicted that 14-inch and 17-inch models would be appearing. HP has announced two new Envy notebooks in said sizes and despite what you may think of optical drives in that day and age, both feature slot-loading drives.

The Envy 17 obviously has a rather large display, which is powered by the Mobility Radeon HD 5000 series chip that supports Eyefinity, allowing it to drive multiple external displays on its own. It plus offers upgraded Beats audio processing along with a subwoofer, two hard drives to offer you up to 2TB of internal space, Intel Core i7 processor and USB 3.0 ports. Expect that to hit the market come on May 19th from $1,400 onwards.

The smaller Envy 14 offers a rather different 14.5-inch display which claims to be about 75 percent brighter than other 14-inch displays. From the looks of it, that model will be going squarely against Apple’s latest MacBook Pros and will be powered by Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processors with the option for 3G. that model will be shipping from June 27th for $1,000.

MSI has revealed that it has a new CX705MX notebook that will come with a 512MB Radeon HD 545V graphics chipset, offering more than adequate juice for folks who are on a tight budget to handle HD videos on its 17.3″ 1,600 x 900 resolution display. To invent certain that great visuals go along with a decent level of audio, there are a couple of 2W speakers accompanied by a subwoofer to keep things going. No concept on the kind of Intel Core 2 Duo processor used underneath the chassis, but we do know that the CX705MX will run on Windows 7 Home Premium with a 250GB or optional 320GB or 500GB hard drive. Other specifications include a 4-in-1 memory card reader, HDMI output, VGA output, three USB ports and an Ethernet port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, and a 1.3-megapixel webcam. No concept on pricing or availability though.

The Psyko 5.1 PC Gaming Headset System has finally made its way to the US, where it will offer full immersion 3D audio which more or less lets you precisely identify movements around you – fundamental whether you’re knee deep in First Person Shooters, but otherwise not so useful whether RTS and MMORPGs are more your cup of tea. Five speakers located around the headband will channel sound to the ear in a natural manner, accompanied by a subwoofer in each ear cup. The microphone itself is removable, while the open ended ear cups lets you build out conversation in the room. These won’t come cheap though at $299.99 per pair.

Boston Acoustics’ TVee model sound bar system ought to resonate with audiophiles since it has a two channel sound bar system that boast a hundred watts of total ability output, apart from a wireless subwoofer, remote control and a component output. There is one major downside to the TVee though – cost. It retails for four Benjamins on Amazon, but whether you don’t mind picking up a refurbished model, next it might shave off some dollars from the final sticker price. Meant for those with very little shelf space in their home only, otherwise it would do well to invest in something more sizeable.

We certainly don’t mind tech seeping into our everyday items, and the Audio Lounger concept certainly looks like one of those things we wouldn’t mind making room for. It sports four built-in high quality speakers and a (rather noticeable) large subwoofer, not to mention a touchscreen panel on the upper side of the seat to keep you in touch with your favorite music. that design by Matt Hardman additionally includes LED lights that offer ambient light that can be set with a range of colors, giving that concept lounger a futuristic look. Now we only have to wait for someone to mass produce that.

Philips latest Immersive Sound home theatre system might look pretty ordinary with just five satellites, a subwoofer and a base unit, but there is more to it than meets the eye – apparently, that strange audio system contains a trio of speakers, with one pointed forwards while the other two are angled to the left and to the right. that strange setup ensures you receive 360-degree sound regardless of where you are sitting from all 16 speakers. As an added bonus, the base unit is additionally equipped with a Blu-ray/DVD player and DLNA functionality. Other specifications include Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio, stands for the rear speakers, an aluminium finish and a low capability consumption of 0.3W. There is no word on pricing or availability though.

[CES 2010] Talk about pimping your ride – that fully kitted out Toyota Tacoma has been fitted with the latest technological advancements that aims to satisfy the gaming community who want an alternative playing experience. We won’t be concentrating on what the exterior of the car as well as its automotive parts are composed of, but will focus on the gaming rigs within. Powered by four Xbox 360 Elite consoles, you get one 24″ HD LCD monitor from Samsung for each gamer that folds outwards, alongside a Sharp Aquos 65″ HD LCD public viewing monitor on the back of the Tacoma. Audio is provided via a bunch of amplifiers and a subwoofer for that added kick, but you will need to open up all doors whether three of your mates want to have a gaming session for all and sundry to look at. Don’t get mugged while you’re at it though – we’d propose getting groupies to watch your ride else it might end up relieved of its tech when you’re back from your dinner.
