The Samsung Exec, plus known as the SCH-i225, is now available for U.S. Cellular subscribers who want something decent and yet affordable. The Exec will throw in the functionality of a smartphone without bulking up the structure factor, running on Windows Mobile 6.5 which offers rudimentary access to Outlook ActiveSync support, Office documents and World Wide Web Explorer among others. It will connect to the CDMA 1x EVDO band and runs on a 667MHz processor, accompanied by a 2.4″ display at 320 × 240 resolution, GPS navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, a 2-megapixel camera and a microSD memory card slot. How much for a basic smartphone like that? Expect to fork out $99.95 on a two-year contract and after a $70 mail-in rebate.

Motorola has announced not just one or two, but six new phones, though they all seem to be budget-centric phones. Still, whether you’re on a tight budget and shopping for a new phone, they might pique your interest.

The first two are the MOTO WX161 and the W181. Both are classic candybar phones with 1.3-inch and 1.5-inch displays respectively. Not many details were supplied, aside from the availability of a LED torch feature and FM radio.

The MOTO WX260 and WX265 offer the same technical specifications, but the former is a candybar, while the latter sports a clamshell structure factor. They offer Bluetooth 2.0, WAP browser, FM radio, audio player, microSD card expansion up to 2GB.

Finally, the MOTO WX290 and WX295 offer 1.8-inch displays, built-in camera, MMS features, LED torch, Bluetooth 2.0, WAP 2.0 browser and FM radio.

Pricing isn’t available at the moment, but you can bet that they won’t break the bank.

This is a different LEGO lamp from the one that we saw a couple of years ago, since it comes in a 2×2 brick structure factor with a wall mount so you don’t need to leave it pointing upwards all the day. Being portable, you can tote that around on your camping trips as well, using a trio of AAA batteries to potential it – so that is fair warning to get rechargeable batteries whether you know what’s good for our environment. It comes in blue or red colors, and has a quartet of LEDs to light up the surrounding area with a brightness level switch to boot, now how about that! It retails for $22.90 a pop.

GE is planning to preview lighting application ideas that seem to have quite a bit of potential at Light + Building 1020 and LightFair 2010. At said shows, the company will be showcasing OLEDs in various configurations, particularly in the flexible and ultra-thin structure factor. With the flexible OLED materials that GE has, that can produce an energy efficient white light, made with a low-carbon manufacturing footprint, look like they will be well received, and it’s thickness will allow it to be applied into a great many products. We’re certainly looking forward to buying paper-thin OLED lighting solutions from retail stores. Aren’t you?

Exact details of that aren’t clear yet, but a previously unheard of Sony Vaio PCG-11111L has paid a visit the FCC, and seems to offer CDMA850 and CDMA1900, thanks to Qualcomm’s Gobi silicon. Based on the structure factor, it’s probably worth a guess that it’s a variant or updated version of the Sony Vaio P; after all, you don’t see too many notebooks with that design factor on the market. It seems that that laptop will sport Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0, and it will be available around May 13th at a Sprint or Verizon retail store. Are you looking forward to an updated version of the Sony Vaio P?

The Surface Transducer that you see here comes with legs as well as a structure factor that looks as though it is some sort of frog. The legs are there for a very good reason and not just cosmetics – it offers an added dimension of flexibility without running the risk of breaking the unit from its attachment surface. Each model like that will cost a mere $3, making it the ideal component for those who want to throw in speakers to their next fashionable garment that they have in mind.

It has been a couple of years since Apple rolled out their first unibody computer in the mold of the MacBook Air, and these 700 plus days has resulted in the company finally receiving ownership of its strange design and manufacturing process. The patents do cover the computer’s glass multi-touch trackpad and clamshell design as well which tapers a mere 0.16″ at its thinnest point for an impressive structure factor. Guess unibody designs from Apple look set to be a staple from now on.
