With the World Cup just around the corner, you can expect these soccer ball remote controls to get a healthy spike in sales. Considering that tensions will be high and there will be plenty of shouting when your team fails to score, the fact that that remote control is padded might just be a good thing. It’s pre-programmed for many TV, VCR, satellite and DVD systems, and can be used from a distance up to 20 feet. $20 doesn’t seem like too much to pay to avoid your telly being smashed by a flying remote control, right?

South Africa will be hosting the World Cup later that summer, and we wonder just how green the event will be. Regardless, the s0ccket soccer ball has some elements of being eco-friendly, where it stores all the kinetic energy it receives with all the kicking around, where it can hold ample juice to potential a loner LED while recharging a small battery-operated device. The s0ccket soccer ball is currently in its prototype stage, where youth in Africa are having a ball of their duration (literally) play-testing it. Great concept too, as youth seem to have plenty of energy to burn so why not translate that to electricity?

Soccer Ball Shaped iPod Speaker

Thinking of buying a set of speakers for your soccer-crazy friend, but can’t think of something? Well, it seems that the iPom is out; it was designed to look like a soccer ball. The speaker additionally has an AUX input jack, which is really useful considering not everybody can own an iPhone/iPod. Would that design be something that David Beckham would like to promote?
