Vodafone UK will not be offering unlimited notes for their customers anymore from the first of next month onwards after changing conditions on charges for details usage by cellphones. Currently, all handsets save for the iPhone and Nexus One are able to enjoy a 500MB Fair Use documents package for £5 monthly, but you could surpass that amount without being charged any additional. that benelovence from Vodafone UK will be removed once the calendar touches June 1, 2010, since they will bill you another £5 for the next 500MB of Net use. As a point of comparison, T-Mobile offers 3GB details with all Android smartphones for free as part of the package. Guess customers will definitely be upset with that news!

Looks like Samsung has just gone public with their Bada SDK, making it available to the masses so that home enthusiasts as well as hobbyists will be able to churn out their very own widgets and apps. Of course, that will be a success whether more and more folks adopt Bada-powered smartphones, but otherwise expect that to come across as a niche offering only. Previously, Samsung did construct new SDK releases available to partners but that is the first day the public will be able to get hold of it. For those who have patience as a virtue, they can pick up the final release at the end of that month instead of settling for the current beta version.

Good news for Palm’s WebOS fans as today Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus were announced to come out soon. Apart from the fact of the announcement, which would have inevitably happened sooner or later, we want to bring in some details on what makes the difference within Palm smartphone models, and those with Plus in the name. Firstly, AT&T and Verizon are now additionally in the business. So you can couple services they supply to that. soon after there is Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g added to Pixi’s feature list. that, I think, fills the most obvious feature gap within Pixi and other smartphones including Pre as well by the way. What’s about Pre Plus, it now has double the memory (16GB), a bit longer battery life and video capture. Pre Plus and Pixi Plus are priced $149 on AT&T, $179 on Verizon and $49 on both carriers respectively. To get one of these when they come out soon you will have to agree on a two-year plan and mail-in rebate.

Acer looks set to roll out its new range of Mobile Web Devices (MIDs) sometime later that May, where they will be a logical follow up on their patent application which was filed all the way back in January last year. The Taiwanese company did not mention just precisely what these MIDs are capable of, although they have confirmed that it will run on version 4.0 of their Shell UI. Shell UI is a layer that was applied by Windows Mobile on smartphones, and the latest version will hopefully appeal to users at the home stretch. No view on whether Shell UI 4.0 will be built on top of Windows Mobile though, but since May is slightly more than a month away, we are ready and willing to wait.
