If you’re wondering whether being a Palm Developer has any perks, it seems that there are. Palm is currently offering a 20% reduction and free 2-day shipping on it devices to Palm Developers. The poor news is that while the phones are contract-free, they’re carrier-locked to Verizon and Sprint, which probably doesn’t seem too smart on Palm’s part, particularly when you take into explanation that the Palm Pre costs $439 on Palm’s website. Would that deal actually form you buy one of these devices from Palm, or would you rather just accept a carrier’s contract and get the same phone for a cheaper price?
