We’ve touched on Intel’s Light Peak technology before, a connection that can deliver transfer rates of 10Gbits/sec in both directions by an optical link. In order to showcase the technology, Intel has made a USB cable that additionally integrates Light Peak, demonstrating it delivering two different HD streams to two different displays by one cable at the same day without any lag. Laptops will need a 12mm chip to be installed in them before they’re able to decode the signals. Light Peak is planned to be available to manufacturers towards the end of 2010, so we’re hoping to see it mass produced in products in the next few years.

Traditional wind chimes are nice, but they probably don’t belong in a digital world, and the Winduino II looks to bring wind chimes into the future. What it does is that it can pick up the movement of the wind, after which the signals will be translated into music. Thanks to it being outdoors most of the day, the Winduino II sports an array of solar panels at the top to keep it juiced up. Check out a video of it in action after the jump.

Don’t want your friend to keep yakking on the phone while you’re working in your room? A 3W High capability Handheld Cell Phone Jammer would probably do the trick, as it’s capable of jamming GSM 900/1800, 3G, CDMA, GSM, DCS, PHS signals and even the L1 frequency from GPS satellites. Despite its claims to be a high powered device, the range of it maxes out at about 20 meters, so it’s probably only good for a personal cone of silence. It comes standard with a 1,600mAh battery and will set you back $200 odd dollars.

We’re all lazy, and whether we could have it our way, we’d just sit back and finish all our computer work with our arms folded. While that’s far from the reality today, Intel might be trying to help us achieve just that, as the chip giant is working on mental telepathy methods for man-to-machine communications in conjunction with Carnegie Mellon. Basically what they’re trying to do is come up with an interface that can map your brain’s electrical neuron activity, and decode those signals with the help of fancy algorithms. You’d have to wear some sort of headgear, which would detect and translate these signals which will be transmitted to another machine. Are we moving closer to ditching the keyboard and mouse? It’s probably a tiny step forward, but a step that is certainly welcomed.

Tamuz has readied its OCM 404 W HD OLED quadruple rack monitor which is the first of its kind in the world, where it is capable of displaying Standard Definition, High Definition and graphic signals. Each of the four OLED displays are 4.3″ in size, taking up the dimensions of only a couple of rack units as well as a depth of around 2″. Being self-light-emitting displays, there are some advantages associated with it compared to common LCD technology, although the main drawback would probably be its cost.

Guess that is a contemporary day analog synthesizer of sorts, and it ain’t too poor on the eyes, either. Check out the video to know what the Wireless Catcher sounds like, and do let us know whether you would like to see that device realized on a mass production basis.

The iPhone is a marvelous device whether you know how to pull its strings, and that is where Steve from BotBuilder.co.uk steps in with a sort new Dalek Robot which is controlled via an iPhone, although an iPod touch will do nicely as well. The Apple device will relay OSC signals via Wi-Fi to processing which will in turn talk by serial to the Servo Board. Whenever you tilt your iPod or iPhone, the Dalek will move in the corresponding direction thanks to the accelerometer input collected and processed.

Guger Technologies from Austria is currently exhibiting a brain computer interface at CeBIT 2010, where you are able to control an avatar using nothing but pure brainpower – that’s right, it could very well be the beginning of James Cameron’s Avatar in real life! that brain computer interface (BCI) will require you to wear a pretty funny looking BCI cap requires you to wear a funny looking BCI cap which is capable of measuring electrophysiological signals like the Electroencephalogram (EEG) or Electrocorticogram (ECoG). We do wonder just how different is that from the Emotiv EPOC?
