Tamuz OCM 404 W HD OLED quadruple rack monitor

Tamuz has readied its OCM 404 W HD OLED quadruple rack monitor which is the first of its kind in the world, where it is capable of displaying Standard Definition, High Definition and graphic signals. Each of the four OLED displays are 4.3" in size, taking up the dimensions of only a couple of rack units as well as a depth of around 2". Being self-light-emitting displays, there are some advantages associated with it compared to common LCD technology, although the main drawback would probably be its cost.

Wireless Catcher outputs captured Wi-Fi signals as sound

The Wireless Catcher is definitely something strange that we haven't come across before - after all, how many devices out there do you know is capable of detecting Wi-Fi signals in the vicinity, resulting in an output of audio which varies according to the strength and direction of that specific signal? Guess that is a contemporary day analog synthesizer of sorts, and it ain't too poor on the eyes, either. Check out the video to know what the Wireless Catcher sounds like, and do let us know whether you would like to see that device realized on a mass production basis.

The iPhone is a marvelous device whether you know how to pull its strings, and that is where Steve from BotBuilder.co.uk steps in with a sort new Dalek Robot which is controlled via an iPhone, although an iPod touch will do nicely as well. The Apple device will relay OSC signals via Wi-Fi to processing which will in turn talk by serial to the Servo Board. Whenever you tilt your iPod or iPhone, the Dalek will move in the corresponding direction thanks to the accelerometer input collected and processed.

Brain computer interface on parade at CeBIT

March 1, 2010

Guger Technologies from Austria is currently exhibiting a brain computer interface at CeBIT 2010, where you are able to control an avatar using nothing but pure brainpower - that's right, it could very well be the beginning of James Cameron's Avatar in real life! that brain computer interface (BCI) will require you to wear a pretty funny looking BCI cap requires you to wear a funny looking BCI cap which is capable of measuring electrophysiological signals like the Electroencephalogram (EEG) or Electrocorticogram (ECoG). We do wonder just how different is that from the Emotiv EPOC?

Mini jumps aboard connected bandwagon

Mini is all set to roll out a new system known as Mini Connected at the Geneva Motor Show, where it is touted to offer "a newly developed USB interface whose rare functionality allows maximum integration of the iPhone into the in-car audio and infotainment system." We can't wait but see such entertainment integration being made in other vehicles of the future, and will certainly look forward to that new innovation particularly with Mini: Mission Control in which "vehicle-related signals are used to generate constantly changing, situation-dependent messages." Apart from that, Mini Connected will be launched as an option on the Countryman. Saving up for a new car after reading that?

CellAntenna technology jams signals for inmates

CellAntenna technology is pretty interesting as it basically cuts off one's ability to dial another phone number, as its "jamming can be surgical ample to block illegal signals without affecting cell phone communications outside the prison perimeter." that ought to give prisons more control by their rowdy flock, since the issue of contraband cellphones inside America’s prisons has already hit pandemic proportions, so hopefully CellAntenna is capable of delivering all of it promises.
