With the recent dominance of Apple’s iPhone OS and Google’s Android, Symbian certainly doesn’t want any setbacks, but it seems unlucky that a setback is what has happened. Reports are filtering that Nokia’s N97 and Sony Ericsson’s Saito have been pulled off the shelves due to quality concerns. Folks who try and buy the N97 online via Vodafone UK are redirected to the N97 mini, which is apparently more stable. The Saito on the other hand seems to shut down when users try and launch assured apps, and it seems that there isn’t a downloadable fix just yet. whether these problems are down to Symbian’s OS, it’s certainly a cause for concern. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what the official word on that is, but till next, it seems that the Saito wouldn’t be the best phone to buy just yet.

The DigitalRise PC-729 tablet offers a refreshing look at the tablet market, since it comes with a 7″ touchscreen display, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, all powered by an ARM9 processor. One major drawback would be its 128MB RAM which by today’s standards, doesn’t seem to cut the mustard any more, while its 7″ touchscreen display has a relatively low resolution of just 480 x 272 pixels. Would those obvious setbacks cause you to fork out $355 for the DigitalRise PC-729?
