Encipher Limited has jumped aboard the tablet bandwagon with a new 7″ tablet design that is powered by what else but Google Android. While the company is based in Nigeria and the UK, we are at a loss as to where the Encipher tablet will be sold, and neither do we have an inklin on how much it will cost. Guess you will just have to draw a price point from the specifications such as a 7″ 800 x 480 resolution display, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity, 16GB of internal memory, 512MB RAM, an SD memory card slot, a VIA processor, Google Android 1.6, USB connectivity, HDMI output and the ability to connect to 3G mobile broadband networks via an external device. Hopefully when released, an updated Android OS will be made available to that unnamed tablet for it to keep up with the times.

The Apple iPad has certainly been a success in its own right, and has fast fallen under the net of clone manufacturers for good reason – after all, why not ride on the popularity of a device that has sold by a million in less than half a year since its release? The M003 Apad you see here is additionally known as the iRobot, albeit it runs off the Android operating system (version unknown). Bearing a 7″ TFT display at 800 x 480 resolution, the iRobot comes with Google Maps support, HD video compatibility, a built-in webcam, 2GB/4GB of internal memory and an SD memory card slot. It retails for $199.99, and thanks to integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, you won’t need to look out for a mobile carrier to subscribe to for a mobile documents plan.

Another day, another ebook reader – that date round with Paradigm Shift offering their EER-051D model. Why must they come up with such a convoluted model name is anyone’s guess, but we would definitely prefer something that is a whole lot easier to roll off the tongue. That aside, the EER-051D ships with a 5″ color display, an integrated FM tuner, MP3 and photo playback, 2GB of internal memory, an SD memory card slot as well as the ability to handle most popular e-book formats without excluding DRM-enabled ePub books to boot. Expect that to be rebadged in other iterations and hit the US sometime next week.

The Mighty is one interesting device as it doubles up as both a cellphone as well as a projector. For the phone segment, it sports a 3” touchscreen display and GSM connectivity, where you can screw the projector onto the back of the handset, making it look like a distant cousin of the Sony PlayStation Eye Toy. Apart from that, we do know that that device comes with an SD memory card slot, and has a pre-loaded game emulator that handles both NES and SNES titles. that is something you can get only in China, and for a couple of Benjamins as well. Guess the battery life is the main factor that one ought to consider whether you were to purchase that handset.

Netbook Navigator seemed to have taken a closer look at their Nav 9 tablet, realizing that the initial price point could impact its sales, thus reducing the Nav 9 to $599, which is still $100 more expensive compared to the cheapest Apple iPad, but before you switch your mind off and buy something fruity, check out its specifications. Powered by an Intel Atom N270 1.66GHz processor, the Nav 9 will ship with 2GB RAM, a 16GB SSD, an 8.9″ multitouch display at 1,024 x 600 resolution, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, an SD memory card slot, a SIM card slot, optional 3G connectivity and a trio of USB ports. It seems that the initial batch of Nav 9 tablets had troubles with multitouch display, although a new batch with more responsive displays is on its way. Do you think that will challenge the iPad, or does it occupy a different niche? We see it more as a multitouch netbook instead.
