Robots are slowly taking by the world, whether we like it or not, and now Shenyang Siasun Robot & Automation Co. Ltd. has come up with the Family Nanny Robot. As its name implies, it’ll be able to help you with your household when you’re not around. Its environmental sensors are able to detect a gas leak and contact its owner via text report or e mail. It’s additionally positioned as an elder care robot, thanks to its ability to chat with the elderly and do check-ups via its large display and camera. It’s able to operate for up to 8 hours on a 2-hour charge and is slated to be available in about 5-years instance for about 10,000 Yuan ($1,500).

There is a season and moment for everything, including to build up and to tear down. that conceptual Cynomy remote controlled demolition robot would do well to star in a future Transformers movie, as it is meant to see action in hazardous environments including nuclear plants, chemical factories and sewers among others. Featuring a couple of robotic arms that can be controlled by a human operator’s own arm movements, you can opt to fit various tools to meet the need. Electric motors run its wheels, with the ability to move in opposite directions for easy maneuvering in tight spaces.

Hopefully Dennis who is playing with a a robotic arm as his chess opponent has not input the essential cipher to have the arm reach by and choke the life out of him should he win the match. The Lynxmotion AL5A robotic arm is, after all, full well capable of plucking each piece and moving it to the next space. that is made possible thanks to a Python script Dennis himself created to process the moves and decide on the next move. A webcam is used to capture the location of the desired pieces on board in order to help it in its task.

Simon is capable of facial recognition and sound localization to help him learn, and nice to know there is a panic button to turn him off just in case he loses some nuts. There is no word on commercialization of Simon just yet, so we guess he’ll be confined to a lab in the meantime.

Researchers have managed to come up with a rather cool undersea robot, the Sounding Oceanographic Lagrangrian Observer Thermal RECharging (Solo-Trec) is the aftermath of years of search and is powered by the energy harnessed from changes in sea temperatures. that is possible thanks to its 10 external tubes of phase-change material. When in the warmth of shallow waters, the substance will melt and expand; when in deeper waters, it’ll cool and solidify. The expansion caused by warm temperatures will pressurize the oil inside the device, driving a hydraulic motor, which recharges the Solo-Trec’s batteries. It’s nice to see that aside from keeping boats afloat, the ocean is plus busy keeping our robots powered.

Do you remember the original Runbot? Well, now we’ve got the Runbot2, and it actually sports four legs, much like a dog. The Runbot2 actually looks like it’s on some kind of sadistic animal analysis platform, what with all the wires it’s hooked up to, but thereupon again, wires are probably comfortable to robots, right? The runbot2 is about 40cm in length, and it’s able to achieve speeds of 1.3m/sec. The goal of that robot is to create one that could actively switch within a slow trot and a full gallop, probably in an effort to imitate real animals. possibly Sony would like to check out that Runbot2 whether it plans to come up with a new Aibo. Video after the jump.
