The Kingmax PD-02 USB flash drive sports a simple streamlined design and won’t hurt your pocket too much in terms of pricing, since Kingmax wants to form it accessible to a whole lot of public across a wide spectrum. It comes with a slide-out USB connector, ensuring you won’t need to run the risk of losing the cap any more, while an anti-scratch body makes it all the more durable to tote around. Too poor that has not moved on to USB 3.0 connectivity, so you’re stuck with USB 2.0 in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities.

When it rains it pours. Just last week we found someone who managed to get Google’s Android OS running on Apple’s iPhone, and now another site has posted directions on how to do just that. It involves quite a few steps, so whether you’re the lazy type, that might not be for you. But whether you do go through all the trouble, the user claims to be able to get Android 1.6 running on the original iPhone 2G. There’s a video showing you the whole process too, in case you can’t seem to visualize the steps without a video.

Note: whether you do mean to give that a try, do bear in mind that you do so at your own risk. We haven’t tested that on our iPhone yet, so we can’t confirm that it won’t prepare your iPhone burst into a ball of fire.

The Tok Took capability Plug concept gets its inspiration from your common retractable pen with a toggle system. The prongs of that capability plug are safely hidden away until you place it against the socket and push. When you want to unplug the device, just push it in again, and the prongs will be retracted, freeing the ability plug, and reducing the risk of you getting an electric shock. Check out a video of that concept in action after the jump.

Did you spend your childhood building spaceships and fortresses using LEGO bricks? So did we, but what we really should have been doing is focusing on building Rubik’s Cube solving robots, such as the CubeStormer in the video (after the jump). Now the robot has gotten a nice little helper in the anatomy of a loader, which will pop the Rubik’s Cube into the CubeStormer, saving you the hassle of having to risk putting your hand into the device. Are you planning to force you children to build such LEGO devices in the future?

Palm Pre overclockers will be thrilled to find out that new custom 720MHz and 800MHz Linux kernels have finally been released by unixpsycho and caj2008, and you can check out the demonstration as well as installation directions from the video above. Some users who have the intestinal fortitude to go ahead with these kernel installations are extremely happy and amazed with the performance boost, although there is always a risk of your Pre burning up due to overheating, not to mention the obvious battery life drain of your device.

It seems that the recent incident, where a bunch of Vodafone HTC Magic smartphones were shipped with the Conficker and Mariposa viruses, has highlighted the issue of mobile device shield to users. As a aftermath, it seems that DroidSecurity managed to get a healthy 10,500 new users to download its mobile device shield solution in the 24-hours that followed the discovery of the virus. While the virus itself didn’t affect the mobile phone, but when the phone was plugged to a PC using a USB connection, the user ran the risk of getting infected by said viruses, not to mention a Lineage password stealer was plus found on the device. Does that mean that we should have antivirus scanners running on our mobile phones all the instance in the future?
