Samsung aims to remain on the radar for being good by launching a campaign which will see them gather at least a million cellphones that year for recycling desires. The entire campaign is called “March to a Million”, and they will be targeting more than 7 million students in approximately 9,500 schools in South Korea first. that program aims to educate teens concerning the importance and ease of cellphone recycling, so what better way than to reach those who are still young with malleable brains?

It seems that despite the Displax Crayon’s cute name, children from the next generation might well be unable to tell what a real crayon is, considering that everything is going digital. The Displax Crayon is an interactive table, with a host of entertainment functions included to invent things more fun for your child. It allows your children to draw an nearly unlimited amount of pictures on it, and comes pre-programmed with lessons on recycling and healthy eating habits, giving your kids some useful data. Do you think that the kids will take to the Displax Crayon as a studying tool, or as an entertainment device?

Steven H. Collins (Department of Bio-mechanical Engineering, Delft University of Technology) and Arthur D. Kuo (Departments of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering, University of Michigan) have come up with a make new artificial foot which is capable of recycling energy, thanks to a micro controller within which operates a device in the foot itself, helping store energy from the down step followed by releasing it on the up step in order to imitate the natural movement of a human ankle. Further research into that medical wonder points to an increase in net metabolic energy expenditure by 23% compared to normal walking when using a regular artificial foot, but that new energy recycling ankle lowers that amount to 14%.
