AT&T Airo Wireless A25is rugged phone

AT&T is more or less famous for their iPhone, but today we shall take a look at another handset known as the Airo Wireless A25is rugged phone. Basically, that is touted to be the first rugged device on their network which will be able to support its suite of business mobile applications. Powered by the now-dated Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, it will target "potentially explosive environments". The Airo Wireless A25is is more than able to conform to MIL-SPEC 810 F/G standards, boasting specifications such as a 2.8" touchscreen display, a QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth connectivity, push-to-talk support and GPS navigation, all crammed into a chassis that measures no more than 1" thin.

Qi NanoNote fits snugly into pocket

Qi NanoNote fits snugly into pocket

The Qi NanoNote is one different device which is small adequate to cram into most pockets, as it comes with a 3" display at 320 x 240 resolution, featuring a clamshell design and a QWERTY keyboard that ups your productivity rate compared to a pesky alphanumeric keypad. Specially designed for thumb-typing, it can perform the most basic of computing tasks, so do not expect it to handle anything more complex than basic World Wide Web surfing and the ilk. Other hardware specifications include a 336MHz Xburst Jz4720 (MIPS compatible) processor, 32MB RAM, 2GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, speaker, microphone and headphone jacks. No concept on pricing for that Linux-powered machine though.

Newsmy 6202 ebook reader

Newsmy is back with a new ebook reader of their own, known as the Newsmy 6202 which will improve on its 6101 model which rolled out earlier that January, retailing for $262. The design does not resemble that of the 6101, featuring a neat, black color. In what looks like part of the Kindle, you get a QWERTY keyboard and a couple of extremely large page turning buttons located right beside the display for your convenience. Ebooks aren't the only media supported, since it handles music playback and images as well.

Smartbook concept should be realized

Smartbook concept should be realized

This Smartbook does not describe a kind of consumer electronics device, but is a conceptual portable computer instead, where that smartphone can be flipped open to reveal a QWERTY keyboard which can be synchronized with its personalized PC tablet. Definitely something that we would like to see in the real world, but we guess it will remain nothing but a pipe dream at the moment. Since that is but a concept, we guess you can basically imagine it comes with the most drool-worthy of hardware specifications, but it will most probably run on the Android OS considering the Chrome browser is on display here.

Sun ability Technology mini-notebook

Sun ability Technology mini-notebook

Just when you thought that netbooks and Mobile Net Devices (MIDs) were the smallest category mobile computing machines out there, along comes Sun ability Technology with their, well, device which falls under no man's land. After all, it comes with a 4.8" touchscreen display at 800 x 480 resolution, a QWERTY keyboard, 512MB RAM, flash memory, Wi-Fi connectivity and a battery life which is good for up to 2 hours. Tipping the scales at 1.8 pounds, the QWERTY keyboard looks rather redundant since it isn't large decent for comfortable touch typing, but is more suited for a pair of thumbs. What is that, a thigh book?

S40 phones get touchscreen display and dual SIM

Nokia has seen its market share decline in many countries slowly but surely despite clinging on to the top spot still. Well, in a move that could rejuvenate their business, Nokia is waiting to roll out dual SIM S40-powered handsets that will boast a touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard - all the while staying true to its affordable price point that has been the staple feature of all its S40 phones so far. Guess Nokia will still be top dog for a few more years unless someone really shakes things up at the entry level segment.

Moblic E7 boasts WiMAX connectivity

You might not have heard about Moblic before, but here is their E7 device that sports a QWERTY keyboard alongside WiMAX connectivity, promising to put the World Wide Web in your hands. Well, guess that will join the already crowded Mobile Net Device (MID) market, offering a 4" touchscreen WVGA display, 8GB internal memory, a 600Mhz processor, 256MB RAM, a microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi and WiMAX connectivity. No view on pricing or whether it will hit that part of the world though.
