March 18, 2010

There is a very real possibility of seeing a 1GHz Snapdragon processor inside a Nokia handset, thanks to one of Nokia's top executives, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo. According to him, “Qualcomm definitely is a potential partner going forward. The companies did fight a expanded date in court, and now we see them as a potential partner.” Now, the speedy Snapdragon processor is one of Qualcomm's great asset, so a similarly powered Nokia phone down the road should not be ruled out just yet.

Qualcomm has a patent filing of theirs published today which points toward a possible foldable touchscreen tablet. that device will merge a trio of touchscreen displays into a loner device, where its interface will change depending on the context. Cool A6161 clones HTC Magic
March 1, 2010

Here is yet another clone of the HTC Magic, where that clone is known as the Cool A6161. Not precisely the most stunning name to grace the market, but it does seem to get the job done pretty well. Boasting multi-touch support as well as Android 1.6 running, that is the first among clones to do so. Features include a 528MHz QualComm MSM7201A processor, a 3.2" HVGA capacitive touchscreen, 192MB RAM, 512MB ROM, a 2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi connectivity and a 1,200mAh battery to keep it going. No notion on how much you've got to fork out for one of these though, but being a clone it can't be as expensive as the original.

Nokia could be working on Snapdragon-based Symbian phone
February 18, 2010

Word has it that Nokia and Qualcomm have teamed up to work on a new Symbian-powered smartphone that will run on a Snapdragon processor, making Nokia handsets speedier than ever with at least a 1GHz clock speed running within the chassis. It seems that that new smartphone will hit the North American market sometime in the middle of that year, and frankly we are quite excited to see what both Nokia and Qualcomm has in store for us. Will that be able to rejuvenate the Symbian platform that is lagging behind the iPhone OS and Android in terms of ease-of-use?
