This Tactile Gaming Vest isn’t the first force feedback vest that we’ve encountered, and hopefully it won’t be the last. that one was created at the University of Pennsylvania, and is designed to let its wearer feel a punch or gunfire hit in sync with what’s happening on screen. Aside from enhancing the game, and immersing you in the game, it’ll additionally supply a good incentive for you to improve and obviously not get hit in the game. The vest can additionally be modified for real duration simulation and training by the military, so it does have another market aside from gamers. The vest uses four solenoid actuators in the chest and shoulders in front, and two solenoids in the back. Vibrating motors clustered against the shoulder blades simulate a reaction similar to getting stabbed. The experience is apparently close to a paintball excursion, but doesn’t hurt as much (fortunately).

They say never to judge a book by its cover, and we guess that the same can be said of the DOK-ING XD electric car – after all, it does looks rather diminutive in nature, but that made in Croatia set of wheels is capable of accelerating from a standstill to 100km/h in but 7.7 seconds. Granted, it is pretty light in nature at just 100kgs, measuring 2.8m enlarged, but the 80kW/360Nm electric motor which is powered by lithium-ion-phosphate batteries packs quite a punch. Apart from that, it can recharge in 8 hours, which means you’d do well to juice it up during the night before the next day begins.

Yinlips of China have come up with yet another portable media player for the masses – the Yinlips X320 which is compatible with a wide range of audio and video formats, including MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, FLAC, MPEG-4, AVI, RM, RMVB and FLV without the need for any conversion running in the background. Having said that, folks might not get used to the 3.6″ display whether they prefer something larger, but the X320 ought to pack abundant punch with the remainder of its specifications including an image viewer, an e-book reader, a radio tuner, a microphone in line and an integrated speaker.

Don’t distress about robots taking by the world in an apocalyptic end to mankind – that day, whether it ever arrives, is too far off the horizon. After all, despite being rather lifelike in linguistic ability (which you’ll find out why later), the RoboThespian RT3 doesn’t quite pack the punch we’re looking for as it is more of an interactive exhibit than a real robot. After all, you are the one who programs it to say whatever you want using text-to-speech software with support for up to 15 languages. Apart from that, you can add more personality using custom motion routines via Blender (an open source 3D design software), with it fully articulated hands and fingers adding more realism. Just don’t expect to see the RoboThespian RT3 reach under your Christmas tree as it retails for a whopping $84,000.

Shuttle used to roll out extremely compact computer chassis that packed quite a punch within, and we guess things have hardly changed since soon after whether the Shuttle XS35 nettop is any indicator. that 3.3cm thin machine comes with a dual-core Intel Atom D510 processor inside, boasting NVIDIA Ion 2 graphics chipset with HDMI output alongside all the usual suspects – an Ethernet jack, a multicard memory card reader, a plethora of USB 2.0 ports, VGA and relevant audio outputs. Being so small, it runs quietly with very little sound coming out of it apart from the whirring of a DVD or from its 2.5″ hard drive. No view on pricing, but expect the Shuttle XS35 to ship in Q2 that year.
The French will be getting a new tablet-style notebook from Acer – the Acer Aspire 1420P. that 11.6″ model comes with a 1,366 x 768 resolution touchscreen display which can be turned around and folded down to resemble a slate computer. Nothing new about that design factor, but that is one of the initial few budget-friendly models to have popped up. It is slightly larger than your average netbook, but packs in a whole lot more punch in terms of processing capability thanks to the dual core Intel Celeron SU2300 CULV processor and integrated GMA 4500MHD graphics. that isn’t going to hit the US just yet, but it sells for 499 Euros in that part of the world. Other specifications include a 250GB hard drive, 3GB RAM, HDMI and VGA outputs, Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, and an SD memory card slot, all running on Windows 7 Home Premium.
