It’s not often you construct out something dubbed “super” and find out that it’s additionally an eco-oriented product, but that’s just what the Superbus is. The students at UT Delft in the Netherlands have come up with a prototype Superbus, which is an electric-powered machine, sporting a carbon fiber shell, low chassis, and 16 individual gull-wing doors. Thanks to its lithium-polymer battery pack that powers its motors (up to 800hp whether we may add), it’s a zero-emission vehicle, and can travel up to 130 miles before needing to be juiced up. Passengers will have to book their seats in advance, either by calling or texting a pickup duration and location to the driver, after which the driver will figure out the quickest and most efficient way to get everybody to their desired destination.

Marvell jumps onto tablet bandwgon with $99 device
March 19, 2010

Could Marvell be working on an OLPC rival, with word of a $99 tablet which will hit the education market? According to them, that Moby prototype boasts an an ARM-based processor which is capable of handling 1080p HD video, Adobe Flash and 3D graphics with aplomb. Sounds pretty hard to believe, despite it coming with a low ability Marvell ARMADA 600 chipset which supports always-on, internet-connected performance, eh? We are guessing that that will more or less be used as an ebook reader/textbook replcement device compared to a high definition video player. Do you think that that will be a game changer?

HMK 561 Carbon Fiber Electric Bike Concept
March 12, 2010

The HMK 561 Carbon Fiber Motorbike might seem like it’s from another planet, but seeing as there’s already a prototype in place, perhaps humans did come up with it after all. The HMK 561 has special electrical properties that hold ability right inside the frame. Since Carbon fiber is conductive, the designers are using it to distribute potential instead of wires. The ability will be used to potential the lights and the motors within the rims. The bike additionally uses the energy to turn the wheels using a counter-turning axel in lieu of gears and chains, which hopefully means less maintenance as well.

March 3, 2010

Check out the Bourne Energy BPP-2 hydroelectric backpack which allows you to tote your very own energy generator wherever you are, although you must be in fairly good shape to manufacture certain that 30-pound, 500-watt generating hydroelectric plant stays securely on your back at all times without slowing you down. After all, would you rather walk around with that instead of five dozen solar panels? It retails for $3,000 a pop where the civilian edition is concerned, and can be used in streams moving 7.5 feet per second. Hopefully the prototype will be speeded up soonest possible to meet the 2012 release dateline.
