Nokia’s freshly-announced Car Kit CK-200 offers some rather useful functions, the most obvious which is its ability to connect to two devices at once and switch seamlessly among them whilst you’re busy driving. To further stand out, it can automatically download the phonebooks from both devices, as well as display new text messages that you receive. It additionally comes with a wireless remote which can be attached to the steering wheel for easy access, so you don’t have to fumble around your pockets just to reply a shout. There is additionally the inclusion of the My Own Key, allowing you to listen to a new SMS by your car’s speakers or send a pre-defined text info explaining why you can’t reply the signal. The CK-200 will be available that summer and should be retailing for about €140 ($182). Check out a video ad promoting the Nokia Car Kit CK-200 after the jump.

AMD’s latest 6-core processors are strangely affordable to the mass market, where its 3.2GHz Phenom II X6 1090T is going for $295, which is way lower than Intel’s hexa-core Core i7-980X that retails for $1,000, slightly more than triple the amount. Apart from that, AMD’s latest processor is additionally backwards compatible with most of the AM3 and selected AM2+, motherboards, making a CPU upgrade much easier on your pockets. The only issue that remains would be its performance – would you be willing to take a significantly cheaper route simply considering it suits your budget, and there is sufficient bang for your buck with the purchase?

Creative has a couple of wireless speaker systems that will be arriving across the Atlantic, namely the D200 and D100. The former has a similar “sonic soul” as Creative’s flagship ZiiSound D5, although it won’t hurt your pockets too much, despite being capable of pumping out 9 watts RMS by each channel. As for the entry level Creative D100, that model will come in black, pink, green and blue colors, and can be powered by a quartet of AA batteries or remain connected to the mains, delivering 2 watts RMS by each channel. Out that July, the D200 and D100 will retail for £89.99 and £59.99, respectively.

Statistics, and damned statistics! Well, these figures don’t lie when it comes to the number of Google Nexus One handsets being sold all through the first 74 days of its life in the market. After all, when you compared the Motorola DROID and iPhone, their respective first 74 days resulted in 1.05 million units as well as around 1 million units, while the Nexus one touched slightly more than 10% of those figures at a mere 135,000 Nexus Ones moving into the pockets of consumers. Hopefully with the impending roll out on Verizon Wireless and Vodafone in the coming months, the figures might just bump up.

The Qi NanoNote is one different device which is small adequate to cram into most pockets, as it comes with a 3″ display at 320 x 240 resolution, featuring a clamshell design and a QWERTY keyboard that ups your productivity rate compared to a pesky alphanumeric keypad. Specially designed for thumb-typing, it can perform the most basic of computing tasks, so do not expect it to handle anything more complex than basic World Wide Web surfing and the ilk. Other hardware specifications include a 336MHz Xburst Jz4720 (MIPS compatible) processor, 32MB RAM, 2GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, speaker, microphone and headphone jacks. No concept on pricing for that Linux-powered machine though.

Cracked phones are nothing new, after all, folks drop them, sit on them, and who knows what else? That being said, the folks by at CNET apparently had their Nexus One just spontaneously crack (and leave an ugly purple hue). The phone wasn’t dropped or anything, but was just sitting on the desk being charged. When taken for inspection to HTC, it was mentioned by a HTC person that “public sometimes forget that they don’t go in pockets,” which is rather weird, considering most folks tend to keep their mobile phones in their pockets. certain, whether you keep it in your back pocket and sit on it, that’s your fault, but not everybody keeps it in their back pocket. The cost of replacing a cracked screen is £180 ($272), which is rather pricey. Regardless of whatever phone you’re using, it’s certainly a good concept to form certain you don’t get the screen cracked, as it’s rarely ever cheap to replace. that story actually reminds us of the physical testing that the Nexus One is subjected to, and that certainly looks a lot more brutal than being put in your pocket.

Looks like Verizon Wireless is the latest mobile carrier to suffer from an outage – that moment with their slew of BlackBerry devices, and it is a rather huge issue since that outage is of seemingly nationwide proportions, although there are still folks in various pockets of civilization Stateside that can still retrieve and send their newsletter by BlackBerry. Verizon does not know when the situation will be corrected, so the only thing you can do now is keep your fingers crossed that all will be fixed shortly. In the meantime, the world still goes on even though you receive your newsletter a fraction slower than push by your Gmail history.
