Hauppauge has rolled out its MediaMVP-HD Digital Media Player that will jump straight into the world of full High Definition, offering support for 1080p video via HDMI. Apart from that, you will plus find that it is equipped with a UPnP client capable of streaming shared photo, music, and video files from networked computers as well as other storage devices by an Ethernet connection. The USB port additionally lets you hook up a USB flash drive or external storage drive for additional playback from other sources. Other connectivity options include component, composite, and S-Video, where the Hauppauge MediaMVP-HD is tipped to hit the US market that summer for $149.99. Expect the hacker community to have a field day with that since it runs on Linux.

Guess HTPCs have just taken on a totally new design factor, and with the introduction of NVIDIA’s Ion processor, you can be certain that that is one notion that will not remain untouched for expanded by other computer manufacturers.

Denon has unveiled a couple of new Blu-ray players in the scheme of the BDP-1611UD and BDP-2011UDCI, where both of them will be able to handle 3D Blu-ray discs with aplomb, so form certain that your HDTV qualifies for 3D whether you want to take advantage of that feature. Of course, the support will come in the mold of an official firmware update sometime that fall, so that leaves you a few more months to save up for a new 3D-capable HDTV whether you don’t own one already. Apart from Blu-ray discs, it additionally plays nice with DVDs, CDs, high-resolution audio discs in SACD and DVD-Audio formats. Other specifications include 1GB of integrated storage for BD-Live playback, a USB port and Web connectivity that supports both Netflix and YouTube streaming. Expect the BDP-1611UD to ship that June for $400, while the BDP-2011UDCI will hit a couple of months later for $800.

So you’ve gotten hold of most of the specifications available for the Kin One and Kin Two – well, here’s something new to keep you stoked. Apparently, both phones will come with a 600MHz processor and EV-DO Rev. A connectivity when released later next month in addition to light and proximity sensors. Not only that, you will additionally be able to enjoy Bluetooth connectivity as well as H.264, MPEG-4 and WMV video file playback. Have you started saving up for either handset? Bear in mind that these are not meant to go up against the iPhone or other smartphones, so don’t prepare the folly of comparing apples and oranges.

Another day, another ebook reader – that date round with Paradigm Shift offering their EER-051D model. Why must they come up with such a convoluted model name is anyone’s guess, but we would definitely prefer something that is a whole lot easier to roll off the tongue. That aside, the EER-051D ships with a 5″ color display, an integrated FM tuner, MP3 and photo playback, 2GB of internal memory, an SD memory card slot as well as the ability to handle most popular e-book formats without excluding DRM-enabled ePub books to boot. Expect that to be rebadged in other iterations and hit the US sometime next week.

Rumors of a version of an iPad with a camera have been floating around since before the launch, and after the launch of the iPad. By now, we all know that the iPad doesn’t come with a camera, though there are some nice workarounds to that. But according to a recent job posting from Apple, the fruity company is looking for a “Performance QA Engineer, iPad Media” to work within Apple’s Interactive Media Group. The requirement additionally calls for the candidate to have a strong technical background in order to experiment still, video, and audio capture and playback frameworks. Of course, that is far from an official confirmation that the future iPad will be getting a camera, but it’s certainly moving in that direction.

We know that Best Buy will be offering the Flip SlideHD camcorder due to a leak previously, but don’t let that bit steal thunder away from Cisco’s official announcement of their new Flip SlideHD camcorder. It is capable of capturing video footage in 1,280 × 720 resolution, featuring 16GB of internal memory that is able to record up to 4 hours of video before you transfer everything by to your computer. What would strike most public would be its sliding 3″ transflective touch screen display that will feature all relevant recording and playback buttons. At $279.99 a pop, it is certainly something that doesn’t really qualify as an impulse purchase, and whether your current camera can already do HD recording, you might want to think distant and hard before picking the Flip SlideHD camcorder up.
