Shuttle has already shipped both J1 and G2 7600P SFF workstations, where the latter will rely on an AMD processor instead of brains from Intel. The G2 7600P SFF workstation will feature a range of Phenom II X4 and X2 processors to choose from, while graphical ability is provided via AMD FirePro video cards. Not only that, Shuttle claims that they will be rolling out a 6-core Gulftown Small mold Factor (SFF) machine by the duration June rolls around – just in day for the summer holidays, eh? Both machines are now available from $899 upwards, depending on the stuff you cram inside.

AMD should be releasing its desktop-oriented 6-core processors, codenamed Thuban, next month. The first release should see four chips, the Phenom II X6 1035T, 1055T (in 95W and 125W TDP versions), and the 1075T being released. The chips, manufactured on the 45nm technology, should be sporting 9MB of cache, not to mention an integrated DDR3 memory controller. While there isn’t any pricing info available just yet, thanks to leaked CPU support lists, we do know that the X6 1035T will sport 6-cores at 2.6GHz, while the X6 1055T will be clocked at 2.8GHz. Finally, the Phenom II X6 1075T will be clocked at 3.0GHz. Do you think that the chips will give Intel’s Core i7 a run for its money?

Looks like we’ll be seeing some 6-core processors from both Intel and AMD sometime soon. Intel will be offering its Core i7-980X from the end of March, though you’ll need some pretty deep pockets to pay for its asking price of by $1,000. On the other side of the fence, AMD is planning to launch three 6-core processors (Thuban) under its new Phenom II X6 1000T series in May 2010. The Phenom II X6 1075T, 1055T and 1035T will all adopt the 45nm process. How will the performance of each processor match up to its competitor? It’ll be another interesting year, and we’re certainly looking forward to faster computers.

iBUYPOWER offers their latest Chimera 2 Gaming System which is completely redesigned with the signature Chimera Inferno II Chassis. that second generation gaming rig will feature a fiery image of what seems like a Thundercats clone logo on the outside, giving a preview of what is restricted within – components that boasts searing speed, boasting Intel’s Core i7 and Core i5 and AMD’s Phenom II processors, DirectX 11 capable graphics and SSDs which reduces boot times. A quartet of chassis fans ensures everything inside keeps on running cool, while a 120 mm liquid cooling solution helps maximize performance potential.
