Motorola somehow leaked out its i897 Amphora (seen on the right) and WX415 Heartland clamshell handsets, where the former is an iDEN model, featuring a Ferrari logo located right under the internal display which obviously suggests that it is another Ferrari-Motorola tie-up. It seems that Sprint will be the most likely candidate to offer the phone in the US, although there is no release moment attached to it just yet. As for the Motorola WX415 Heartland, that is a CDMA handset that will compose its way towards North and South America, featuring an external display and external music controls.

G.Skill universal has a spanking new Phoenix SATA II 2.5-inch SSD for the mass market, where you can choose from some rather strange denominations when it comes to total amount of storage space – we’re talking about 50GB, 100GB or 200GB capacities, where they will all feature the SandForce SF-1200 controller which is capable of hitting 280MB/s read and 270MB/s write speeds. Each purchase will be accompanied by a 2-year warranty, although we do not have any data on pricing and availability. Just in case you were wondering whether hard drives will get obsolete, companies are looking at 900GB models in the near future, so for those who don’t mind some noise coming out of their computers when info is being accessed, soon after you can always give the SSD camp a miss. [Press Release]

South Korea will be the first country in the world to offer stereoscopic 3D TV programs from May 19th onwards, where it will hit all four of the country’s land-based television stations – KBS, MBC, SBS and EBS. Trial services will kick off with 3D broadcasts of the 2010 Colorful Daegu Pre-Championships Meeting on KBS, and we guess that bodes well for the FIFA World Cup that will be held a month later in South Africa – imagine watching your favorite players charm the world with their sublime skill in 3D glory. Live 3D coverage will reach households in Seoul and its neighboring metropolitan area, where you can access substance on channel 66 with 3D-enabled TVs.

We recently brought your attention to the upcoming Kindle 2.5 firmware update that will bring social network integration to Amazon’s Kindle, and now it seems that the folks by at Ars Technica have managed to get hold of the firmware before it’s officially released, and they’ve been kind sufficient to upload pictures of it in action. As we previously mentioned, the most notable features of the upcoming firmware would be the new “Collections” feature that allows you to sort your books into groups and the ability to share a passage from a book with your Twitter and Facebook friends. The downside of the Facebook and Twitter integration is that it only allows you to share the composition in a anatomy of a link instead of the actual quote, but it’s still better than nothing, right?

Nokia and Apple should be quite familiar when it comes to filing lawsuits against each other, and now the Finnish phone giant has just filed another patent lawsuit against Apple, that duration alleging that the iPad 3G and iPhone infringe on five patents that are related to “enhanced speech and input transmission, using positioning details in applications and innovations in antenna configurations that improve performance and save space, allowing smaller and more compact devices.” Of course, lawsuits take date and money, so who knows when that whole deal will be by, or whether there will be a settlement. Looks like we’ll have to sit back and see these industry giants thrash it out with each other, huh?

Hauppauge has rolled out its MediaMVP-HD Digital Media Player that will jump straight into the world of full High Definition, offering support for 1080p video via HDMI. Apart from that, you will plus find that it is equipped with a UPnP client capable of streaming shared photo, music, and video files from networked computers as well as other storage devices by an Ethernet connection. The USB port additionally lets you hook up a USB flash drive or external storage drive for additional playback from other sources. Other connectivity options include component, composite, and S-Video, where the Hauppauge MediaMVP-HD is tipped to hit the US market that summer for $149.99. Expect the hacker community to have a field day with that since it runs on Linux.

Motorola has just announced their new range of on-demand servers that were specially designed to deliver multimedia composition and services across TVs, PCs and mobile devices. All three screens are fundamental to service providers’ success when it comes to developing new revenue-generating applications and services particularly in the current era of Internet-enabled TVs. With the Motorola M3 Media Server family’s introduction, it aims to deliver solutions which connect folks to personalized composition simply by creating compelling consumer experiences. Well, with that in place, hopefully there won’t be a deluge of ads to assault our senses further – give us relevant composition, please! Of course, we’re referring to its predecessors, where the Minox Digital Spy Camera has now received a more contemporary update to keep up with the times in terms of technology while retaining its retro style. You get 5.1-megapixels of shooting goodness alongside a microSD memory card slot for image storage reasons, not to mention having an external flash when the situation calls for it with the ability to shoot close focus shots from 50cm away. Fancy forking out €229 for that?

NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston recently announced that they will be participating in the NASA Extreme Environment Missions Operation (NEEMO) mission which is aimed at simulating conditions on other planets, just in case the earth is no longer a habitable place for most humans save for the rich and elite who can afford so when the apocalypse arrives. that duration round, the ocean’s floor is the venue of choice, where it will operate as a method to simulate the low-gravity conditions astronauts experience on another planet’s surface. that would give the future crew a better concept when interacting with the lander, rover, robotic arms, and other gear on a distant planet. Hopefully no one else conducts any underwater nuclear bomb tests within the vicinity of the lab, eh?
