We gave you an early peek at the upcoming Microsoft Kin One and Kin Two phones, and we told you that they were coming on Verizon’s network that month. Well, the instance has come and we have the details about the launch, the specifications and most importantly, the pricing.

Both Kin phones will launch in Verizon’s stores on May 13th for a price of $49.99 and $99.99, after a mail-in rebate and only when purchased with a 2-year contract. Verizon says that “Customers will receive the rebate in the design of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted ” (Verizon).

The details plan data is even more critical: with $39.99 for the voice, and $29.99 for the info, that’s a minimum of $70 that will be charged monthly, which is precisely what smartphone users pay… except that Microsoft Kin does not supply a smartphone experience. So, by two years, we are talking about a $1680 + phone + taxes + fees cost. Honestly, I was expecting the starting price to be lower.

It doesn’t take a genius to guess that Palm is going through some rather troubled times at the moment, and the recent rumors of possible acquisitions by Lenovo and HTC certainly haven’t helped. Now Bloomberg is reporting that Palm has put itself up for sale, and offers should be coming in sometime that week. The news did do Palm’s stock a little bit of good, as the stock price did go up amidst all the speculation. Apparently Dell had additionally taken a peek at the troubled company, but decided to give it a miss. Do you think that an acquisition would be decent to help Palm ride out the storm?

CTIA is the venue where Pantech announced their latest smartphone known as the Pursuit. The handset might be on display there for journalists to have a peek at, but strangely decent there is a no-photo policy enforced. Initial impressions could prove to be favorable, since the Pursuit comes with a 2.8″ touchscreen display to keep up with the times, using a never-seen-before proprietary user interface. that slider handset comes with a QWERTY keyboard, a 2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, a microSD memory card slot, 3G, aGPS and Shake feature which allows you to access three different pre-set shortcuts with different shakes. The Pantech Pursuit should hit AT&T stores in Q2 later that year for a yet undisclosed price, coming in blue and green models.

We had an inkling that the Peek e mail device probably won’t do too well considering its buisness model from the beginning, and with a relatively high entry price point, that could very well be the case. Well, the company claims that it has something up their sleeves which will blow your minds away, although they did not let out on what were the potential improvements that involved that mystery device (which we suspect would be a successor for the current Peek). What do you think Peek has up its sleeves?

Firefox 3.6.2 has been released ahead of schedule, due to a critical protection flaw involving the Web Open Font Format (WOFF) introduced in Firefox 3.6, which could allow an attacker to crash a person’s browser, or even run arbitrary cipher on the person’s machine (a big no-no in terms of security). whether you’re currently using Firefox 3.6, the automated update notification should buzz you within 24 to 48 hours, but you can always apply the update manually by selecting “Check for Updates” from the Help menu. Considering the severity of that issue, it’s best to take a quick peek at your Firefox version right now.

If you’ve taken a peek at SanDisk’s homepage today, you’ll have noticed a rather obvious notice on the site stating that something BIG is coming. While we’re not entirely certain what the company has in store for us, but considering that the company specializes in memory, it’s probably worth a bet to say that it’s probably larger capacity of some storage medium. In case you’re wondering, the moment indicated is the coming Tuesday, so stay tuned!

While these figures are far from official figures by Apple, it’s still very interesting to take a peek at what some citizens have analyzed by the latest Apple iPad pre-orders. It seems that, based on the order numbers from purchases, and taking into detail the 15,000 online orders that come in a typical day, the fruity company has managed to snag about 91,000 iPad pre-orders in just six hours, which is certainly an amazing feat. It still remains to see how successful Apple’s iPad will be in the distant run, but whether the pre-order numbers are anything to go by, Apple certainly has something good on its hands.
