The folks at Asus seem to have finally got it, as the top management decided to stop manufacturing as well as shipping the recovery DVD which comes with each package of the Eee PC. Why, you ask? Just in case your memory eludes you, there is no optical drive with the Eee PC, so you will need to fork out more money to get an external DVD drive instead, and it would be interesting to do a simple survey and find out just how many Eee PC users actually own a DVD drive. Good shout, Asus, better late than never and at least you will do your bit in saving the environment.

BlackBerry users who use BlackBerry Media Sync will want to take note that an update has been released, bumping the version up to 3.0.0.39. While it’s not a major release, that update offers a newer, semi-revamped user interface, not to mention improved picture synchronization for PC users. whether you’re curious about the new features, you can always download the latest version from the official site. The only bit of poor news is that there doesn’t seem to be an update for the Mac version, but hopefully that’ll be coming sooner rather than later.

PC gamers who have been drooling by Xbox gamers who could access Games on Demand to purchase easily will now have something to smile about. Microsoft has decided to supply a similar service for PC users in the scheme of a new service called Games for Windows LIVE. The client that is needed to access the games will be offered for free, and the games line up does seem rather comprehensive, as it includes titles like Fallout 3, DiRT 2, Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV, Battlestations Pacific, FUEL, Viva Pinata, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, Shadowrun, Section 8, Juiced 2, and Red Faction: Guerrilla. Do you think that that will build your PC a more desirable gaming platform instead of the Xbox, or do you still favor the Xbox? Let us know your thoughts on it in the comments section.

For those of you rocking BlackBerrys out there, you’ll be happy to compose out that RIM has released the latest BlackBerry MediaSync 3.0.
