If you can’t get hold of the leaked iPhone 4G to show your love to your partner, the iPhone 3GS Moon Protuberance is probably the next best thing. that modified iPhone 3GS sports 23 diamonds to create the image of the night sky with shining stars, as well as a LED-lit Apple logo at the back. Despite the diamonds and all, it’s priced at just $6,800, which is still expensive, but hopefully doesn’t force you to use up your life savings.

DRM (digital rights management) generally doesn’t get a warm response from consumers, but tech companies often have to include DRM to safeguard digital property, and Samsung has announced that it will partner with Microsoft to apply Microsoft’s PlayReady DRM technology to a broad range of its consumer products, which will include phones, digital video players, TVs and other devices. Samsung expects to migrate from its current Windows Media Digital Rights Management to PlayReady by 2012. According to Samsung, the technology would be used to protect substance, allowing it to be accessed on a range of devices, most likely storing it in the cloud.

Hyundai Motor, Korea’s largest automaker is apparently looking to partner with Apple to bring the iPhone to its automobiles. Apparently the company is planning to integrate the mobile phone and its vehicles, and is looking to co-plan and co-design such a scenario with mobile device makers. Three concept designs using the iPhone were unveiled by the company, which include iPhone Control, Magnified iPhone and Advanced Luxury. From the design, the iPhone can be popped into a cradle and control the automobile from there. Sounds fancy.

VUDU fans should be overjoyed to take in the latest announcement from VUDU, as VUDU is now live and shipping on TVs and BDP’s from three new manufacturers, Samsung, Toshiba and VIZIO. After taking into explanation the fact that LG and Mitsubishi already partner with VUDU, that leaves SANYO and Sharp having to play catch up whether they’re planning to integrate VUDU on their devices. There is already a distant list of devices that come with VUDU inside, not to mention Toshiba’s UX600 LED TV (which was just announced that morning). It’s worth nothing that the UX600 is the first product to ship with VUDU apps, which should help set it apart from the rest of the pack. Are any of these models on your shopping list?

Official blog entry.

T-Mobile isn’t enjoying the instance of its life at the moment, since it’s currently facing an uphill battle against Verizon Wireless and AT&T. In order to keep up, the carrier certainly needs to look into getting some high speed info on its network. With that in mind, reports indicate that the carrier is mulling the possibility of a joint venture with Clearwire for its WiMAX infrastructure. It’s certainly interesting to note that Sprint happens to control more than 50 percent of Clearwire, but it doesn’t seem that T-Mobile is considering a merger with Sprint. Do you think a WiMAX network would help improve your perception of T-Mobile?

Mitsubishi Chemical and Pioneer look like they’re placing a lot of importance on printable OLED lighting, as they’ve both formed a strategic partnership and plan to start full-scale mass production with a launch of illumination appliances in 2011. They plan to start off with a 14cm square lighting panel, which is currently the world’s largest mass production OLED lighting panel, and the panels will be produced with printable gap injecting material (HIM) and new emitting materials. Pioneer has additionally issued Mitsubishi 600 million Yen in new stock through third-party allotment, so that is certainly a good way to show commitment to a partnership, eh?

Now here’s a rather interesting take on ceiling lights. Instead of having the usual boring old light bulbs, why not convert your whole ceiling to a landscape of color LEDs, all of which can be controlled by you via a “light brush”. With that, you’ll be able to create patches of light in the ceiling, of draw all sorts of interesting things on your ceiling. It’d probably give your partner a warm fuzzy feeling to come home to a house with “I Love You” written on the ceiling or something like that. Too poor it’s still a concept design, huh?

Nokia might be the number 1 cellphone manufacturer in the world at the moment, but their market share is eroding slowly but surely no thanks to newcomers to the scene. Well, in a move that could see them claw back what used to be theirs, we have word that Nokia has agreed to partner with Alpine to offer integrated Nokia handsets alongside free Ovi Maps navigation into vehicle dashboard systems. Apart from that, you will be able to interact with widgets that monitor your fuel level as well as engine condition while you’re on the road. that development ought to see action in the near future, and we’re stoked. [Press Release]
