Opera Mini 5 and Opera Mobile 10 Launched
March 16, 2010

Opera just announced the launch of Opera Mini 5 for J2ME and Blackberry along with Opera Mobile 10. These are final releases as Opera Mini 5 was previously available as a beta. It includes features like Tabbed browsing, Speed dial and a bookmark synchronization system called Opera Link. On some platform, Opera Mini 5 is much more efficient than the default browser - particularly on Blackberry phones. I tried it with a Blackberry 9700 Bold and Opera Mini 5 trounces the default web browser. Opera Mini 5 is available for Java phones, Blackberry, Android and Windows Mobile.

Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 updated
December 22, 2009

Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 has received yet another update, pushing it ever closer to being the final version. Other improvements available in that update includes support for Arabic and Hebrew websites, a faster loading experience as well as increased auto-rotation support. For those who are running on Symbian-powered handsets, there will be a paltry restricted enhancement, which is native keyboard input integration that enables one to use their default keyboard to input characters. Anyone given it a go already, and what do you think of it?

Opera Mobile 10 Released To Manufacturers
December 11, 2009

Opera has released the highly anticipated Opera Mobile 10 browser for Android, but the poor news is that it has currently only been released to manufacturers and carriers. Considering that Windows Mobile and Symbian devices have been able to get hold of the public beta version of Opera 10 already, Android users might be left feeling a little disappointed. Opera has stated that the new browser "presents limitations that hinder mass consumer distribution", so hopefully they’ll be able to sort out whatever limitations that they’re facing and release it to the Android community soon.

Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 announced
December 3, 2009

Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 is now available for both Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 platforms, bringing a much more finger-friendly user interface to touchscreen handsets, alongside improvements in the download manager, Opera Link as well as better memory management among others. Several new features which are exclusive to Windows Mobile handsets only are shortcut support, the possibility of making Opera as default browser during installation and removal of a crash during installation. that beta version will still come with its fair share of bugs including the lack of support for non-touch capable Windows Mobile handsets.

Opera Mobile 10 beta for Windows Mobile
November 18, 2009

Windows Mobile will now receive Opera Mobile 10 beta which is similar in both look and feel as with the Opera 10 for desktop and Opera Mini 5 beta. You do get a host of new features with Opera Mini 10 beta for Windows Mobile which ought to offer a close resemblance to a desktop-like browsing experience though, thanks to a new interface, the inclusion of tabbed browsing, Speed Dial, a password manager, pan and zoom and Opera Turbo. Apart from that, the new Opera Mini additionally plays nice with touchscreen-enabled Windows Mobile smartphones.
