When Dell acquired Alienware in 2006, three top execs decided to quit to create their company, Origin, with the mission of making high end gaming PCs, Alienware style. Their "baby" is finally born and its name is Eon 18. that stylish and highly customizable gaming laptop boasts 18.4" full HD widescreen, dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 208M GPUs, 7.1 high-def audio, up to three 250GB SSDs. Todays model gets a Core 2 Extreme Quad QX9300, but on Monday it will get a Core i7. The battery life is only 45 minutes when gaming unplugged but you get to customize that baby: you order whatever color and design you like for the top cover , and it is possible to have your name or logo in place of Origin.

Toshiba has further expanded their business laptop lines with the Tecra A11 and Qosmio X500 models, targeting the business community. Apart from that, the Satellite Pro Series plus received more additions with the new Satellite Pro L450 and Satellite Pro L500. Firstly, the Tecra A11 will come in a thinner and lighter design compared to its oredecessorm, where you get a 10-key numeric keypad to help you crunch those figures on a spreadsheet as well. It will be driven by the new 2010 Intel Core processors, accompanied by a 15.6" display and a NVIDIA GeForce 512MB graphics card for a spot of portable gaming during those towering waiting times at the airport. As for the Qosmio X500, engineers, designers and substance creators will most probably keep a keen eye out for that model since it will run on the latest Intel Core i7-720QM quad-core processor with Turbo Boost Technology, coupled with NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M graphics and up to 8GB of RAM. Lugging that 18.4" monster around could prove to be a literally hefty task, but portable computing capability always comes with a tradeoff even until today.

Well, now word is going around that the laptop will be hitting Europe in late March, which isn’t all that far away. Samsung Announces R-Series Notebooks

Samsung has announced several new models that will be part of its R-Series range of notebooks, which are the the R780, R580, R730, R530 and R430. The displays will be ranging from 14-inches to 17.3 inches, and will all offer 16:9 a ratio HD LED display, boasting Samsung’s Touch of Color crystal finish. The R780 and R580 will be getting Intel’s supreme Core i5-520M processors, along with a numeric keypad. The high end models will sport an Nvidia GeForce graphics card, with the option of a Blu-ray drive, 500GB hard disk and even a 1.3-megapixel camera. The Samsung R-Series notebooks will be available in the UK in January 2010, with the pricing and full specification to follow.
