With the announcement of its latest Pavilion dv6 the computing giant now has a 15.6-inch notebook that sports a touchscreen HD display. The main focus of that notebook seems to be multimedia and offers up to 1TB of storage, VGA, eSATA, HDMI and USB ports along with the option for Intel or AMD processors. Prices will start from $530 for the AMD model and $650 for the Intel model, though the question still remains whether you should get a tablet device whether getting a touchscreen device is your main goal.

MSI has revealed that it has a new CX705MX notebook that will come with a 512MB Radeon HD 545V graphics chipset, offering more than adequate juice for folks who are on a tight budget to handle HD videos on its 17.3″ 1,600 x 900 resolution display. To invent certain that great visuals go along with a decent level of audio, there are a couple of 2W speakers accompanied by a subwoofer to keep things going. No concept on the kind of Intel Core 2 Duo processor used underneath the chassis, but we do know that the CX705MX will run on Windows 7 Home Premium with a 250GB or optional 320GB or 500GB hard drive. Other specifications include a 4-in-1 memory card reader, HDMI output, VGA output, three USB ports and an Ethernet port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, and a 1.3-megapixel webcam. To satisfy potential customers, Samsung releases two new CMOS image sensors of smaller size and higher picture quality. Size, they say, is additionally very fundamental as LCD displays are getting thinner and thinner, so potentially manufacturer may choose a smaller webcam sensor that is worse rather than bulkier one. Both of new Samsung CMOS sensors are nearly ready for mass production and will seem on the shelves coupled with laptops and netbooks in Q2.

The first thing we liked by upcoming at that day Pineview chipset and Pine Trail Atom processors was DDR3 support. Waiting a for more than year to get hold of one looked like too faraway. And it still is. So now there is a rumor saying Intel will add Atom-based N455, N475 and dual-core N500 processors with DDR3 support to its current lineup. that reportedly will happen in early June and already ASUS is preparing a netbook sporting dual-core Intel Atom N500 for under $600.
