Ever wondered just what kind of files do you store on your USB flash drive, as well as their percentage? For those who love to keep track of seemingly trivial data, that conceptual USB flash drive might just come in handy. After all, it comes with a display that will show the kind of files available via color, where pink stands for images, blue for documents, green for movie files and so forth. Depending on the number of files, the color displayed will be in proportion. Just like those USB flash drives which show how much space there is left even without being plugged in, we guess that concept runs on a similar view albeit on a notch above.

It seems that the war amidst Google and the Chinese Government has stepped up a notch, after Google decided to redirect users from its google.cn domain to its uncensored google.hk (Hong Kong) instead. The search results will still be affected thanks to China’s Great Firewall, but it does become more obvious to the masses that the government is filtering search results. Now it seems that China Mobile might be scrapping its deal to have Google as its default search provider on mobile handsets, which apparently might be due to pressure from the government as well. It certain seems like things are going downhill (for both parties) at the moment. What do you think the final outcome will be?

We’ve previously heard THQ President shout Sony’s upcoming PlayStation motion sensing controller the “PlayStation Arc”, and now that Sony has filed for a trademark for the “PlayStation Arc” in Japan, it looks like the name is gaining some serious credibility, and you have to confess that it does sound rather cool. Will the PlayStation Arc take Nintendo’s Wii down a notch, and possibly dominate the motion sensing gaming scene? We’ll have to see the response when Sony officially releases it, and we’re certainly looking forward to it.

[CES 2010] Don’t just limit 3G technology to making video phone calls to your loved one on the latest handbag design that you are about to purchase – how about having some shield in mind with the D-Link 3G Door Phone? that device functions like a standard doorbell, but it offers the ability for you to check out your visitors in full even when you are away from home, as lengthy as you own a 3G-capable cellphone. Featuring an integrated 0.1-megapixel CMOS camera, that device will capture and stream the images of visitors to a computer or 3G handset, with the added advantage of an illuminated button to peek outside whenever it is dark. We do wish the resolution could be bumped up a notch though – 0.1-megapixels in that day and age just ain’t gonna cut it. It does resemble something which we’ve covered in the past though.

The Wiimote is one highly hackable device, but We’ve all been entertained by Wiimote hackery in the past, but William Luxemburg from the Delft University of Technology brings things to another notch by hacking his Wiimote to operate as a water-level sensor that is capable of measuring evaporation. that is a simple and cost-effective method to reach at similar results compared to pressure sensors that cost $500 and above. Kudos to him, but will his fellow scientists ever adopt that method in order to save costs during their experiments?

Talk about feeling way too attached to your devices – the USB Wrist Band Battery from Brando is such proof. Most public would wear something on their wrist as some sort of fashion accessory, but what does Brando do instead? You wear a battery around your wrist, complete with LED charge indicators to up your tacky geek level by another notch. You get a plethora of standard recharging tips including those that support Nokia, LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, PSP, DS Lite and DSi among others. When exhausted, the USB Wrist Band Battery can be powered by by USB as well. Do you think that something like that is worth the $35 asking price?

Nintendo’s DSi LL has arrived in Japan yesterday, and by the duration the Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara opened, there were around 100 society lined up. Looks like we could see the Sony PSP-3000 and PS3 both move down a notch from first and second places in the weekly Japanese hardware sales charts next week as the DSi LL helps Nintendo leapfrog to first place. Could that introduction additionally push the PS2 out of the sales charts since there would be 3 iterations of the DS next? As for those living in Europe and US, we’ll have to wait until 2010.
