Firstview Presents $65 Low Cost Nike PC706V SmartBook

Firstview HK Electronic Limited has come up with a SmartBook that will only cost $65 to manufacture, dubbed the Nike PC706V. While we’re not certain whether a convinced sports company will see red by the name, we do know that it is powered by Google’s Android 1.6, but has the potential to be upgraded to the latest Android 2.1. Depending on the configuration, the device could cost within $65 to $200, but its low entry cost should help kickstart the SmartBook market. Specifications of the Nike PC706V include:

Clothing can detect abuse

Spousal abuse might be something that is left covered up due to stigma, but it should not be tolerated. Enter the efforts of doctoral students at MIT who are developing clothing that comes packed with sensors which can record physical abuse discreetly. that could potentially see your future blouse supply evidence against violent perpetrators in the court. Right off the bat, we're thinking that Tiger Woods could surely prepare do with one of these (of course his will come with a Nike logo emblazoned across) so that his wife might think twice before letting loose his clubs on him.

Limited Edition Deanne Cheuk Dell Netbook

With netbooks becoming more and more popular, you’ll probably be hard pressed to manufacture yours stand out amongst what your friends have. That’s probably what Dell is aiming to solve when its limited edition netbook design by Deanne Cheuk. In case you’re wondering, Deanne Cheuk has previously commissioned work for companies like Nike, Swatch, Target, MTV, American Express and the Net York Times. There will be a total of 5250 units of that laptop available, and each of them will be individually numbered. It’s a Best Buy exclusive, so we certainly don’t have to tell you where you can pick up one of these for $379.
