StarTech has a sort new bunch of Mini DisplayPort adapters that will see action on both Windows and Mac platforms, where the first of the three new additions would be the Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter. Using that, one can connect a VGA monitor or HDTV at resolutions of up to 1,920 x 1,200, which means you can additionally enjoy HDTV resolution. As for the Mini DisplayPort to HDMI, it shares the same resolutions as the previous adapter but carries audio as well, and was specially manufactured to handle home theater Macs. Last but not least would be the Mini DisplayPort to DVI cable which will offer similar output for standard digital displays.Prices range from $25 to $30, depending on the model you pick.

While there isn’t any official announcement just yet, word is going around that the latest prototypes of a new Mac mini show that it will sport a HDMI port instead of the legacy DVI connector. To further add credibility to that bit of news, a picture supposedly showing the Mac mini with a HDMI port has surfaced, though there isn’t any way to confirm the authenticity of such a picture, particularly when you take into explanation the Photoshop wizardry that folks can perform nowadays. Have you been looking forward to a HDMI port on your Macs, or are you perfectly happy with your current analog and DVI connectors?

Windows Mobile will now receive Opera Mobile 10 beta which is similar in both look and feel as with the Opera 10 for desktop and Opera Mini 5 beta. You do get a host of new features with Opera Mini 10 beta for Windows Mobile which ought to offer a close resemblance to a desktop-like browsing experience though, thanks to a new interface, the inclusion of tabbed browsing, Speed Dial, a password manager, pan and zoom and Opera Turbo. Apart from that, the new Opera Mini additionally plays nice with touchscreen-enabled Windows Mobile smartphones.
