March 9, 2010

Check out a video of the Shuttle XS35 nettop in action at the recently concluded CeBIT 2010 showcase at Germany, where that little nettop that could sports NVIDIA's Ion2 platform which allows it to be a whole lot zippier than expected of a regular vanilla model. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, we'll let you "read" the entire tome via the video above to get a better view on what it is like.

Giada Cube N7DT nettop

Giada introduces a new nettop to the masses with the Cube N7DT where it packs in virtually everything you need for a media center, although there is no sight of an HD audio output, we're pretty certain that that will be included in the final package. Among the other specifications and features available on the Giada Cube N7DT are an Intel Atom D510 1.66GHz, NVIDIA's next generation Ion chipset, a maximum of 2GB RAM, a 2.5" hard drive bay, a DVD burner, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, LAN support, HDMI, DVI and SPDIF out as well as a TV tuner. No notion on pricing or availability though.

MSI Toast PC

March 3, 2010

MSI Toast PC

MSI certainly wants to heat things up at CeBIT 2010 with the Toast PC, and with a name like that, it is obvious as to what kind of shape it resembles - that of a toast, of course. You won't find any kind of hot bread popping out of that though, as you will be inserting DVDs into its slot-loading drive instead. that nettop plus comes with a remote control which can be snapped to the side of the Toast PC for safekeeping just in case your home has a history of disappearing remotes by the years.

Shuttle XS35 nettop

February 26, 2010

Shuttle XS35 nettop

Shuttle used to roll out extremely compact computer chassis that packed quite a punch within, and we guess things have hardly changed since soon after whether the Shuttle XS35 nettop is any indicator. that 3.3cm thin machine comes with a dual-core Intel Atom D510 processor inside, boasting NVIDIA Ion 2 graphics chipset with HDMI output alongside all the usual suspects - an Ethernet jack, a multicard memory card reader, a plethora of USB 2.0 ports, VGA and relevant audio outputs. Being so small, it runs quietly with very little sound coming out of it apart from the whirring of a DVD or from its 2.5" hard drive. No view on pricing, but expect the Shuttle XS35 to ship in Q2 that year. [Press Release]

Open-PC has no commercial software

Open-PC has no commercial software

Open-PC is a nettop that ought to find a home on most desks considering its relatively small footprint which measures 345mm x 425mm x 100mm. Another outstanding point would be it running on completely non-commercial software, since you get a KDE core alongside a bunch of free software that was designed by the community. Even the specifications and price are determined by a set of surveys, where it will be released at the end of the month. It retails for €359 a pop, featuring an Intel Atom N330 processor, 3GB RAM and a 160GB hard drive.

Artopz Minitopz Nettop

Anybody who is looking to buy a nettop generally knows that they’re cheap, but the tops at Artopz who came up with the Artopz Minitopz probably missed that part, as it is priced at $2,375. certain it sports an Intel dual-core Atom processor, NVIDIA ION graphics, Wi-Fi, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, DVD burner, HDMI output and Windows 7, but seriously, two grand? possibly the additional dollars contribute to its additional feature of functioning as a lamp, as the company says the LED light functions as the equivalent of a 20 watt light bulb. Check out a video of it performing its light-bulb duties here.
